It can be serious or humorous.

Yesterday I learned something interesting about coke (soda). The propane heat has been really drying me out but my water pipes froze so I couldn't boil any water on the stove top to add some humidity. In desperation, I poured several old cokes into the pot. They were stale and flat and some of them were a few days old and just sitting in the sink for me to empty them.
The boil was set a little too high and it evaporated quickly. What I learned was that old, cooked soda smells a lot like caramel candy :) I wasn't curious enough to actually taste it though

Today I learned that there are 300 pressure points in/around the ear, "making it a prime errogenous zone".

Who knew?

My friend mentioned hes picking chess back up so last night I was reading a chess book and I tried a game this morning online against a computer. It went well until I moved my queen to the wrong square. There was no undo button. I became angry. Guess it's just another of my 5 minute hobbies.

I've also been messing around with Ableton Live 5 lately and learning how to use it's infinite music creation capabilities.

I learned through my imperfections that I am perfect. I practiced on my guitar last night but then it hit me "If practice makes perfect why practice if nobody's perfect?" So I put my guitar down and then I received another epiphany. And that epiphany was that my imperfections make me perfect...so I picked up my guitar kept practicing.

Yesterday was a good day.

Awsome info everyone.
Scary (yet oddly cute) picture, Serkat!!

I've always wanted to learn about pressure points, reflexology and accupuncture (sp). I think I'll do a bit of research today.

Grats on you epiphany, Jeff and your continuing to practice :)

So far today I have learned- or rather, re-learned, how (generally speaking) fickle people are. I ventured out for food and smokes and everyone was in such good moods. There was an abundance of people in Sheetz (gas station, convenience store with a deli). My total purchase came to $13.10 and only 6 of what I paid were bills lol- the rest was quarters and a dollar ten in dimes. Even though there was a line behind me, no one became impatient.
The change in mood and activity has been brought about by the warmer day. But when Spring and then Summer gets here everyone will gripe about how hot or wet it is... when Fall and Winter arrives again, people will complain about the damp and cold lol It's the times in between the changes that people seem happiest.

I also learned that Strattera somehow helps with my obsessive/compulsive tendencies (either that or Celexa isn't working at all for me). I've been off Strattera for some time now (ran out) and while driving, I passed some rags that oddly looked human in form or arrangement. It took everything in me to not drive back and investigate more closely. They were just clothes. I knew that logically, but I felt compelled it was something more regardless.

Today, I would LIKE to learn why post nasal drip causes me heartburn. I can't go around hawking up and spitting up loogies (sp) all the time and what goes down my throat irritates the dickens out of me. (Gross, I know.)

Epiphanies are always wonderful.

Reminds me of one I had early this morning about what could possibly be be like to be God, and clues to his/her experience.

[[ I was looking into my cat's eyes up close, from the side as he was looking out the window; and his tiny eyeball struck me as being a little world in itself. (A thought I've had before.) It had a flat, moving iris, and a clear spherical space covering it. I watched the way that no movement, no matter how minute, escaped his awareness. Each external stimulus registered, and triggered an internal reaction. The longer I watched, I began to "see" the thoughts behind the movement in his eyes. ]]

Then the epiphany was, if I were to metaphorically consider the eyeball the "world", reacting to what was beyond the windowpane "the universe", then the owners/controllers of the eyes themselves would be "God", the cat himself.

And caused me to wonder: "Is God really controlling the whole thing, and if so, is he aware that he is?" and "Or is he merely the intellect behind it, unaware of his own importance/potential, reacting to what he sees from the only conduit available to him?"

To me, something like this would qualify as learning something new. Just ideas.

It somehow felt like a breakthrough at the time though. Maybe its just because my cat has eyes that have spot's of green, brown, and blue that made it look like the Earth...who knows.

this wasnt today, but it was very recent.
i learned that you shouldnt try taking keys out a schools computor keyboard with a money clip. me and my friend were switching keys on the keyboard for a laugh, but i had this money clip in my wallet (it came with the wallet) so i used it to take out the left arrow key because it was quite hard to get out, but it pinged away and i couldnt find it, so i used the pause break button or something to replace it (because ive never used that button, so i didnt think it was that useful)

I learned that infomercials are the only things on TV in the morning. I didn't have anything to do, so I just stuck around listening to infomercials for stupid shit like the MagicJack.

I hope you can learn a way to earn the money for that camera you want, FableFame.

I learned moments ago NOT to cook cheesy instant mashed potatoes in coke no matter how hungry you think you are. It is too nasty to swallow.
Thankfully, hubby gave me my grocery money early because he doesn't like to be bothered when he's leaving for work... so I'll be venturing off to Hardees or Walmart or Sheetz soon.

I also learned that the show "1,000 ways to die" is very disturbing. I think what I really don't like is how they try to make it funny... it just makes it tacky IMHO.

Last Friday I learned how to change the Bluetooth chip in a Dell Latitude D630 laptop. Then I learned that I should have checked the BIOS first to see if Bluetooth had been disabled. It was. :)
