Sometimes I have a question that doesn't warrant an entire thread. Maybe some of you do as well :)
My question is about how to better phrase a question lol
I think my cat is pregnant. When I got home this afternoon, I looked under the RV and saw a HUGE dead rabbit. She ate only it's head.
I gave the body to my dog to enjoy because the cat was done with it and I hate seeing critters killed and then "wasted"... but then I saw a perfect bunny ear. It's a little bloody at the end that connected to the head, but it's undamaged.
I then became curious if I could "cure" it and keep it without losing the fur on it.
The only word I know for preserving an animal is "cure" (maybe I have the wrong word?).
When I google it, though, all I find is info on making sick rabbits better.
What is the word I'm looking for?

Another question:
I tried for hours (sadly) earlier today, trying to figure out how to photoshop the picture of my eye. I want to erase everything from the whites of my eyes out, leaving only the iris and pupil.
I couldn't figure it out for the life of me.
Does anyone have any tips for me?

Why do my lungs "hurt" when I've been without a smoke for a day or so? As a smoker, I can take deep breaths without hacking up a lung and rarely have a "smokers cough". But when I go without a smoke, I have both those things. Is it because my lungs are trying to purge the toxins?
Also, are cops ever humored or annoyed when their presence cause drivers to stomp on their brakes whether they're speeding or not lol?
And, why do my armpits feel like their being poked by dozens of needles when I'm *about to* start sweating?
Why does happiness cause my anxiety/panic attacks when I'm not medicated?

Do you mean that you want only your pupil and iris to be set against a blank background? If you have Photoshop, you can use the magnetic lasso tool to select the outer edge of your iris and then erase everything else. If you have more questions, let me know.

Many thanks for the tip! I tried the lasso tool but my hands are so jittery that I never capture the right areas lol
Another random question:
Why is it when I skip meals for a couple of days the skin beneath my cuticles becomes frayed as if by a multitude of papercuts (feels about the same too). I pull the frays off because they get caught on things which hurts the most. As soon as I start eating right, they go away.

1) Try searching 'taxidermy' and 'preserving rabbit ear for keychain'.
2) Magnetic lasso (not the same as the regular lasso selector) or just erase. Use a separate layer for the background, erase to transparency, and color the background whatever you like, or leave it transparent and save as .png. Or just post it and I'll do it for you.
3) Yes, you nailed it.
4) I don't know, try asking at http://forums.officer.com/forums/
5) No idea.
6) Could be a chemical imbalance in your brain, could be due to your medication having caused the former, or it could be something totally out of my area of expertise.
7) Vitamin/mineral deficiency. You should eat better and not go for days without eating. Just taking supplements is no good either, though it will help. Not sure what specific deficiencies that signifies, but lay off the fast food in any event.
Why is my left thumb hurting? It's irritating.

It's probably RSI or something. To my knowledge, I have not injured it otherwise.
And of course, I do what I can.

what is RSI? Cos i get many body parts that hurt for no reason what so ever.
And why does my dog clean himself like a cat?

RSI = Repetitive Strain Injury
Your dog has Scholerman's Disorder. He thinks he is a cat.

LOL DarkAngel... I THOUGHT your sig. was of a woman with her legs in the air wearing a thong and having a tattoo. I had to stare VERY hard to read what the picture said and even harder to see the lamp :D
Don't all dogs clean themselves like cats? Or have all my dogs been strange because they were raised with cats lol

Zhaylin, it IS exactly what you first thought it was. There is no lamp, it's a picture of a woman in a thong with a tattoo bent over, just flipped upside-down and edited slightly to make it look like a lamp.
It's pretty ironic, really.

MoS, no way lol. Now that I see the lamp, I can't see anything else :D

Ugh... *rips out eyeballs*
I went to Yahoo Answers to find out what it's called when you *feel* someone staring at you (hey, I should've asked that in THIS thread lol)... but a couple questions caught my eye and this was one of them.
I understand what she's saying (my father can barely read and write and he sent me mail when he was at sea w/ the Navy) and both my sons have/have had dyslexia.
But, my gracious! I was polite and tried answering her question, but I wanted to scream: "NO TEXT-SPEAK, PLEASE!!!!!"

ROFL!!
I guess there really is no lamp :D
I have two more random questions...
Why does my cat insist on running ahead of me and then plopping down where I'm bound to squash her one of these days? Every cat I've ever had does this. Sometimes I humorously wonder if they're plotting my death because they'll do it even on stairs lol
The other question is:
Does learning new things make you sleepy?
If I'm driving a new area and take in the sites, I become very sleepy, very quickly. Also, if I'm learning "technical" stuff I want to go right to sleep afterwards. Hubby has a Kingston (sp) Peterbuilt deisel run Motor Coach. I'm used to driving the RV and I'm comfortable doing so. But we have a trip coming up in May and it's the first time I will have ridden in it let alone drive it. While I'm excited and looking forward to it, it intimidates me a great deal. I'm not used to Jake Brakes and 10 or so gauges and the outright power the beast is capable of.
Hubby gave me a tour of the engine and a quick lesson in monitoring everything. After just 30 minutes I was on the verge of passing out I was so exhausted.
Hubby says it's common for young children to do exactly that- when they learn new things or take in new experiences, they go to sleep afterwards because it's a process of the developing brain. I laughed and said there may be hope for me yet if my brain is still "developing". But it made me curious if others are like me in that respect...

Two more random questions:
Why do I start feeling hot and even sweat whenever I'm in physical pain?
Why do I get "cotton mouth" and feel dehydrated, at times, even though I've had lots of water to drink?

I have a question. Do you think having a tail that's vertical like a fish's, as opposed to horizontal like a whale's, is optimal for swimming?
Whales originated on land and have that shape of a tail only because of the way in which their back legs fused together... But fish originated in the water, and therefore their form must be optimal. Right?
I dunno it's just a thought that's been bothering me for a while now.
I guess swooshing the water from side to side is more consistent than swooshing it up and down.. because you have to exert extra force to push it down, but less force to push it up.
Guys this is a serious problem.

Interesting, but I dislike the way in which you assert as fact the theory of evolution. Also, how precisely would extra force be required to push down, and less to push up? Seems to me that it would not be enough difference to notice, especially as the animals' muscles are optimized to push in both directions. Keep in mind that the whale or fish, whichever it may be, is not really moving the water in any direction—it is instead pushing off of the water to propel itself forward.
Fish and whales/dolphins use totally different methods to swim, as well. It's a classic apples and oranges case, really. If I had to compare two specimens, I'd go for sharks vs. dolphins, as they are perhaps the most similar. I'm not nearly as familiar with the pertinent facts as I once was, but I believe the dolphin would take the shark in speed and maneuverability, though the shark may have an advantage in economy of motion and efficiency. This is largely due to the fact that sharks must constantly remain in motion to keep water flowing through their gills, lest they die.
In actual point of fact, though, each animals design is best suited to their particular purpose. Whales' great flukes greatly help in diving and resurfacing, the former to feed, the latter to breathe. They must do a lot of both, and the horizontal alignment of their flukes no doubt is a great help.

Great answer MoS!
I remembered my question.
Without getting TOO technical... I started smoking last year on April 28th. I decided to quit on April 28 of this year for some symbolic strengthening. Would I smoke my last cigarette on April 27 or April 28th to have made a complete circle (again, without getting too technical)
Man of Steel
04-20-2009, 09:25 PM
April 27th would make it exactly one year. Without getting too technical. So smoke your last one next Monday (the 27th). Don't smoke any on Tuesday (the 28th).

Ughhhhhhhh... WHY do I go through spells of "smelling" mold? It becomes so powerful that it actually affects my taste, but no one else can smell it.
It gets so bad, in fact, that sometimes it gives me a headache and makes me jittery and going to sleep is the only thing that "cures" it.
I call it having "mold in my nose".
1) Could I really have mold in my nose?
2) Is it actually a precursor to the headache?
Whatever it is I HATE it!!! I've had it for about three hours now (usually it goes away after a few minutes).
The last time I had an attack this bad was in January...
Also... why does postnasal drip give me heartburn lol?

Here's an excerpt from my Dream Journal:
"I can't believe I forgot this!
One reason I slept so horribly last night was because I had an abundance of stomach acid. I don't have these attacks often, but when I do they're nasty and fierce. I wake up belching, but the belch is foamy- kind of like what you see when you pour coke over icecream. My instinct is to swallow, but when I do it makes me belch again. I can get stuck in a loop for a very long time and it feels like I'm choking and I can't breathe. When I wake up enough to think more clearly, I just spit into a trashbag I keep next to the couch and it passes."
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Zhaylin

Why does a very bad stomach ache make me break out in a horrible sweat? It's the only pain I've ever noticed doing that. It could be 20 degrees outside, but if my stomach is hurting a lot, I will be drenched in sweat. I've always been curious why...

Another question.....
How often should I handle the baby bunny I rescued from my cat a couple hours ago. She had to stay in my over-sized fanny pack for about 30 minutes while I went to Walmart to buy supplies for her. I filled the tank with bedding, covered her with an edible "log", gave her food and water and she's not moved. Whenever I turn the light on toward her, she plays possium and closes her eyes (or maybe the light just annoys her lol). As soon as I turn it off, she opens them and stares.
I should have bought her some Cream Soda (rabbits cannot refuse it) just to get her drinking and out of shock. She's not injured but she does have a cataract on one of her eyes...

How much should a frugal family of five spend on groceries each month (including household cleaning supplies)?
*Edit*
Am I crazy or does this not look right?
I FINALLY found a site that could help. It's State run to tell you if you qualify for Food Stamps etc.
I inputted that my monthly income is $900.. I spend $60. a month on gas and other than that I have NO bills.
The webpage responded by telling me I could receive up to $646. in "food stamps" (now being called something different).
West Virginia is known for having some of the most obese people States 'round. Could a person even eat $1,340. in food a month (spending it wisely that is).

Why the heck wont my bruises go away and 2 wounds are taking so long to heal?
I've had one of the bruises for nearly 2 MONTHS. It's extremely brown. The two cuts I have are from my dogs claws and they've been with me for nearly a month. A "tattoo" I gave myself 2 days ago is already healed but a couple scratches from my dog linger? I clean them all the same way: rubbing alcohol, soap and water, repeat often...
Man of Steel

Don't use rubbing alcohol, it just kills cells, both dead and living. Only use antibacterial soap and water.

05-30-2009, 04:02 PM
I no longer feel badly about my long-lived bruises. I talked to my sister today when I had my visit with my kids. She accidentally dropped part of a bunk bed on the top of her foot. It didn't break the skin, she didn't bleed, but she's had the bruise for over a year!
I need to partially repeat one of my earlier questions: WHY do I wake up feeling like I'm choking to death? It starts as an innocent belch in my sleep. But the belch produces a "carbonated foam". As soon as I swallow it I have to belch again. It can go on for minutes.
In my earlier post, I thought it was stomach acid... but it doesn't taste nor burn like such. It just feels like someone shook up a soda in my stomach and then opened it.
I've not been drinking much soda.
Has ANYONE experienced this? What the heck is it? What causes it? How can I get it to stop (other than sleeping on a pillow which seems utterly impossible for me to do)?

Ewwww... I've had the jitters so I decided to take my sugar. I stuck my ring finger and when I gently squeezed it to encourage a drop to form, the blood shot out like a geyser and left an impressive bruise.
What the heck? That has NEVER happened before lol.
So, being me, I can't help but wonder why :D My lancet is getting dull. Could that be the reason?
(My sugar is fine at 127)

Well, frankly, Zhaylin, your health sounds absolutely terrible. From the bruising and the way you bled profusely, I'd say your blood is thinner than it should be right now, which causes it not to clot as it should, and makes you bruise easily and said bruises will last ages. It will also make you bleed more than normal if you cut yourself. Could be a blood pressure problem; if you take any sort of mdicine for blood pressure it can thin your blood. Or it could be a blood disorder such as von Willebrand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Willebrand_disease).
Your sister may have broken her foot, and very likely at least sprained it. My mother fell out of our front door and broke/sprained both of her feet and chipped her jaw a few years ago, but never had it seen about, when she really should have.
As for the belching thing, I have no idea. Could it be acid reflux?
Zhaylin
06-07-2009, 07:47 PM
Thanks MoS!
I've thought about acid reflux with my stomach but that doesn't make sense to me because stomach acid is foul and burns your throat. I DO have acid reflux occasionally that I take Acid Reducers for. And I've woken up in the past (rarely) with heartburn and the burn of stomach acid in my throat.
This isn't like it. It's like foam or carbonation and doesn't burn and has no noticable taste.
I posted on Yahoo Answers and someone suggested my stomach isn't properly sealing and said there's more forms of acid reflux so I'm clueless. I'm just monitoring it. If it remains a once a month or even more rare occurrance, I wont worry about it. If it starts happening more frequently and I can't find a connection to my diet or meds, I'll see a doc.
My bruise finally went away but more are popping up all the time. My "tattoos" heal perfectly fine, so I'm beginning to think it's because I'm so careful to sterilize everything while my dogs claws are filthy. ??? Perhaps the initial cut (dirty or clean) helps determine how quickly it heals.
Wow, I hope your mother has completely recovered! That sounds painful.
I do have Ehlers Danlos Disease Type 3 (Vascular Type possible) which manifests itself sometimes as easy bleeding. But from what I've read, it seems symptoms are pretty constant throughout life and I've never been a bleeder or poor healer.
My blood pressure is good and I've even successfully quit smoking (WOOT!).
And thanks to your advice, I quit cleaning my dog cuts with alcohol and they quickly healed.
 Thank you.

My heart is acting all strange again. I'm sure it's because I missed my meds/took lesser amount for several days and it's just getting back in my system. But it's still cool.
I used to have this problem all the time when I was a kid. I always described it as my heart beating along normally, then suddenly pausing and going in reverse, then forward, then in reverse again  Even though it doesn't make sense, that's still what it feels like to me and it's a symptom of anxiety.
It struck earlier and I tried to catpure the feeling by placing my fingers to my neck. It repeated for almost a couple minutes. But to my fingers it feels like my pulse actually stops.
I know it's nothing to be worried about (like I said, I've had it all my life and doctors even made me wear a heart monitor one time and they wrote the problem off as caffeine. Current doctors say it's anxiety related). But what the heck IS it that makes it happen?
The bear about my anxiety is that it strikes even when I'm relaxed and stress-free. So I wasn't hyperventalating or anything.
**Edit**
I found the answer to my own curiosity :)
I looked up arrhythmia and it seems I'm ... *ahem*... still young at heart :D
What I experienced was most likely sinus arrhythmia.
Wikipedia defines it as: "sinus arrhythmia refers to a normal phenomenon of mild acceleration and slowing of the heart rate that occurs with breathing in and out. It is usually quite pronounced in children, and steadily decreases with age. This can also be present during meditation breathing exercises that involve deep inhaling and breath holding patterns."
After I noticed the feeling, I tried to maintain what I was doing at the time it happened (I kept my posture and breathing the same) and I noticed the flutters happening as I inhaled or exhaled (can't recall which it was now).
Very cool lol
Now I need to find out causes for a "normally" fast heartbeat. My resting pulse... well, let me do this right *grabs blood pressure cuff*
Okay... I've been slouching and relaxing on the couch for 30 minutes. My blood pressure is 130/86... no biggy. But my pulse is 109! wth? I'm not overweight (but I am starting to get flabby) and I'm not underweight. I AM inactive, but my pulse has been unusually high all my life and I didn't begin my stationary lifestyle until about 10 years ago
Walking leisurely through Walmart will shoot my pulse up to 110-130 (my blood pressure remains the same).
Why has my pulse always been so fast? When I was a kid through my 20's I was very active and it was just as fast then as it is now (but back then I had low blood pressure).

Where do fledgling Robins sleep? I found a baby at the base of one of our enormous pines and felt compelled to "rescue" it, as the tree is in the area my cat frequents.
He's a chipper little guy. I bought some fishing worms and have given him 1 1/2 (sliced up).
I've done a lot of research the last couple hours and I'm going to have my hands full. He needs to be fed, as much as he can eat, every half hour from sunrise to sunset.
He's older than other Robins my kids and I have tried to care for over the years, so there may be hope for him.
Anyhow, I was reading that Robins tend to leave the nest 14-16 days after hatching. At that time, the male will show the fledgling how to survive and both parents will occassionally feed it. But the fledgling can't fly well. I read that it will roost with the male at night, but where since it can't fly?

Is it truly a symptom of insanity to walk around your UNOCCUPIED house completely naked all day?
It's not like I go outside to feed the dog in the nude... or go around nude when I go out in public or have people over.
What's wrong with being anked lol
(My hubby says doing such is a symptom of clinical insanity and he gives me a hard time for not wearing any clothes. To me, it's practical. When it's 85 degrees in the tin can that's the RV, remaining naked keeps me cool and dirties less clothes :D)

Grrr... must I TRULY get a new Social Security Card? I've been married since 2001 and I've been using my old one. I have no idea how to go about obtaining all the legal documents to prove my ID and remarriage.
This is a pain in my butt....

Is that anything like a yoga position lol. I sit like that ALL the freagin time and my ankles are starting to suffer. As I type this I realize I also rest my elbow on my knee as I type which adds more pressure to my knee... or I'll lean all the way forward and rest either on my elbows or flat (I've even fallen asleep in the flat position lol, but my legs fall asleep and wake me.
It's very comfortable, but my ankles are aching more and more. Could I cause long term damage if I can't learn to sit another way?
I guess I just need to move to the Farm and start using a computer desk like a normal person lol.
Oh yeah, I found my marriage certificate for my first marriage and I also found my adoption papers (my step-dad adopted me)... now all I need to do is go to town and buy another certificate of marriage for this marriage and a couple cities over to buy my birth certificate, then I'll be good to go *WOOT!*
**Edit**
Ugh... I seriously need to start exercising again lol, I have thunder thighs :D

Ugh... I had a thoroughly exhausting day. I left for the Farm at 7AM. I got some basic cleaning done and put together 5 clothing racks, moved a couch and then I decided to do the impossible: move the pool table. It took 8 men to men it when hubby first bought it. It took me almost 2 hours (with several breaks) to move it a few feet by myself. I nearly dislocated my knee in the process at the end because I was tired and not paying attention and while pushing it, my knee jammed the ball return hard.
I push extremely heavy things by lodging myself (sitting down) between the item and the wall or other furniture, and bracing my back against the wall etc, I push the item to be moved with my legs.
It was exhausting lol.
Anyhow... question: I worked up quite a sweat and at one point in particular I had to lay down and rest. I was wet from sweat from exertion, but!- when I actually stopped and was doing nothing at all but laying in front of the AC, I became DRENCHED in sweat. WTH? Why did I sweat MORE after I stopped :?
It's funny to me, but my breasts are most sore. I guess I haven't properly exercised my upper body for way too long :D
Okay... another question: Why is it whenever I first start out to move something too heavy, it's impossible for me to move it BUT the longer I exert myself the easier it becomes? Is it a simple matter of stretching out? I couldn't push even one corner of the pool table at first, but toward the end when I was about ready to pass out lol I moved the pool table half way around. It was still hard but not impossible.

:( I thought for sure at least Ninja would have some theories about my last question :D
Hubby says I probably just "felt" more wet because of the rapid cooling from the AC. I don't quite buy it, lol, but it's a reasonable answer :P
But now I have another question.
My self-destructive, insane and masochistic (?) needs have lead me to branding. I was researching techniques and cleanliness etc and what to expect, and I ran across a REALLY strange web page (and coming from me, at this point in my life, is saying a LOT )
http://www.gorean-portal.com/brand/thebrand.html
What the heck are they talking about? I tried researching it, but I'm sleep deprived and the brain isn't functioning as it should.
Are they (what is the word) into S&M? The word kajiira is completely foreign to me and the style of writing was interesting but really strange in and of itself (the dominant partner refers to the other as his property and he writes as if he is a god- "blah blah, "My" slave" referring to himself and his will in capital letters while she refers to herself mostly in third person "this girl... i think" and uses lower case letters).
And then I was left with the impression that they don't live together which would make ownership pretty much null and void wouldn't it (she being in the U.S. and he from Australia and his having to return home soon after the branding).

Why is my dog so retarded?
It's thundering and pouring down the rain and she was just standing outside her doghouse, looking in, it but she wont go inside it :wtf: She's getting soaking wet and looks so dejected. There's nothing wrong with her doghouse lol
It's blown over during high winds before and she thinks it's possessed when that happens, but she's never been inside when it happened.
Can anyone read this?
Неоднократно доводилось читать подобные посты на англоязычных блогах, но это не значит что ваш пост мне не понравился
What language is it? Is it SPAM?
It's a comment on my Blog, but I have no idea what it says lol
This is Russian not spam. It translates something like this:
More than once I have read something shameful on your english speaking blog (webpage). What you post I don’t like.
Zhaylin, Please don't shoot me the messenger. I only interpreted it, not originally wrote it. Liz
