Has anybody happened to just bump into a Dream Views member somewhere?

I have business reasons for not posting pictures of myself in the pictures thread, considering my controversial views. However, I have looked at all of the pictures in that thread because I am curious to know what people I am talking to. Lately, I started thinking about how trippy it would be to run into somebody out in the world and recognize them from their pictures on this site. I haven't decided if I would have more fun playing a guessing game or just coming right out and shocking them with it. Because I love Florida so much and go there all the time, I have this really strange feeling that some day I am going to run into Oneironaut on my way to Miami or in Key West or Disney World or something (Every time I go to Disney World, I bump into about twenty people I know from Mississippi.). It is very possible and even sort of likely that I will eventually run into somebody I recognize from here. So I am wondering... Has anybody here had such an experience? Have you been at a gas station on your way to somewhere and seen a face you recognize from here and gone, "Hey, you have such and such screen name on Dream Views. I have such and such one."?

I did bump into somebody from here somewhere else in cyberspace one time. There was a guy here with the screen name Freshbrains. He was a major, major fan of The Who. Well, I was on Youtube looking at a video about the best guitarists of all time. I left a comment. Then I looked at the other comments, and on the same page I left one, there was a comment by somebody with the screen name Freshbrains. His comment was about just how phenomenal The Who's Pete Townshend is. It totally tripped me out, considering the size of cyberspace. However, I still have not done that in the physical realm. Who has?

My husband has. A couple years ago or so we went on a Baltic Cruise with a Mac group (Apple computing).
He's a huge fan of podcast and "follows" Leo Leporte (sp) and David Pogue.
On the drive to the airport we were waining philosophical and I told him that no matter how crabby I am or how rude people may be to me, I always give them the benefit of the doubt and look at them as if they're my spiritual brothers and sisters (or may one day become such).
Hubby tends to be a crab-ass about a lot of things and his motto is more along the lines of "kill everyone and let God sort them out".
But, thankfully, our conversation had left an impression on him.

We flew out of Pitsburg to New York or some such and we had a miserable lay over.
There was a guy playing with his son, sitting on the ground with a sort of "hippy" attitude about him. The kid was REALLY getting on hubby's nerves because he kept vibrating the seats.
Hubby held his tongue though and I was extremely proud of him.

When we got to the ship and went to the first lecture, he realized the guy with the noisy kid was there and the guy was none other than David Pogue.
They belong to a lot of the same groups and sites and had a real laugh about the whole thing.

I've ran into the same people several times throughout cyberspace, but never in life.

Okay, the amount of coincidence here is just crazy.

Yesterday at 'work' (camping out on the mountain photographing a huge school group from around Tampa as they learned about cordage-making, rabbit sticks and how to use them, and native lore, then ate dinner and raised hell) in between cutting up with the counselors and taking the pictures, I 'just bumped into' a Dream Views member.

Actually, I'd better clarify; I didn't get his username here, because of various distractions and subject changes, and I'm not even positive he has a username, but we'd got to talking about knives, paracord, graphic design, and then web development, and I mentioned lucid dreaming. Yes, he'd heard of it, knew what it ws, practiced it. I asked if he'd ever heard of Dream Views, and the answer was yes! I told him that I had been an admin here until fairly recently, and was just about to ask his username when we got distracted and I had to go back to photographing the face-painting session.

It's just as well, really, because he was one of the kids there; a seventh grader of 13, though he seemed much more mature, I will say. So even if I'd gotten his username, I wouldn't have given it here. I did not get the chance to talk to him in any length again, unfortunately; he seemed like a pretty cool kid.

Anyway, pretty cool coinciddence if you ask me, seeing as I'd just seen this thread a couple days prior.
