View Full Version : Stupid Things That Get Me Excited

Is there anything "stupid" that gets you excited? Excited as in how you felt when you were little on Christmas Eve.
By "stupid," I mean anything you do in your spare time just for fun. I know for me, it can be as simple as just sitting in my room listening to music. Being a loner, I like to spend a lot of my time alone. Not that I don't enjoy socializing as well.
Other things that get me excited are: watching a movie I really like at any given time, watching YouTube videos on subjects I'm interested in, making YouTube videos, playing Super Mario World, the list goes on.
Am I weird for still getting that excited feeling in my stomach whenever I do these "stupid" activities?

Super balls get me excited. I love finding one on the street.

Reading weird fanfiction, watching softcore porn, playing videogame classics, planning things I never put to practice, watching music videos on youtube, knowing I have a whole day off to waste on the internet, eating those microwave-oven cheeseburgers, putting my dog to sleep. Maybe a few more.

When I'm the last one on my team in Counter-Strike and I start going on a killing spree!
My heart really starts to race and and I get a big grin on my face and I'm just loving it all.
GAAAAAAH makes me want to play it some more!

Something I also forgot to say - playing as healer on RPGs. I just love it. It gets my heart pumping to know how fundamental my actions are to the whole group. Those fractions of second that make the difference between the whole group living or dying in domino style. Knowing how to act so that you don't make anything stupid, even though you're doing a billion things in a single second. It feels like leading an army at war. Sometimes I even have to clean off my hands from sweat. My mates usually praise me for my skills as a healer, and that only makes me like doing it even more. I know it's just stupid, but it's what works for me.

Playing tabletop RPGs with my friends (esp. ones based in the Final Fantasy or Star Wars universes) has become my newest obsession, and yes, doing it makes me feel exactly like a little kid on Christmas Eve. Until I start rolling critical failures left and right, that is...
Other "stupid" little things that give me this feeling include: finding brand new (well-drawn) fan art of a beloved video game/TV show/etc.; starting a new game of Final Fantasy , even knowing that I'll get bored of it halfway through; my annual play-through of every single Zelda game I own; getting done composing a new song; when at work, realizing that it's almost time to go home; watching a new (hell, sometimes even an [I]old) Angry Video Game Nerd review; and other things as well, but I'm too lazy to think of them.
Suddenly realizing it's Friday, when you thought it was Wednesday or something
The reverse of this is just horrible, though :P

Yes. Alot. I do childish stuff all the time :D The most recent and most powerfully exciting one was this:
Me and a friend were walking around, talking and doing whatever two teenagers do. I was ofcourse carrying around a stick that suited my fantasy at the time (That's another one :3) This time around, it was a stick that could be used in a sword like manner and a gun if I wanted it to.
So, we entered this place with tons of trees, and tiny paths with bushes all over, so it was really alot like a big jungly labyrinth.
So, we were talking about that new Wolverine game, and how he thought I would like it. Suddenly I caught the whole X-Men thing, making my fantasy become something like (Jungle + Wolverine + Snake from MGS)
Currently we're not moving much, untill I spot a little hole in the bushes, small enough so that I'd have to get down on all four to get through, but big enough so that I wouldn't get stuck. What do I do? I, without warning, leap towards it, land on all four and crawl through while humming a dramatic theme to myself. My friend, however didn't like the idea, so I basically just disappeared from him completely, and had to wait for me to return - Or go looking for me.
Thinking back at this, it's even more awesome now than it was at the time.
After I disappeared through the hole, it took probably 15 minutes before I met my friend again. He was looking for me, and I was looking for him. But I suppose I should have looked at the place I left him at, and not inside the bushes.
Oh god it was so awesome.
EDIT: So, do I win?

For me it's when I walk by a mirror and notice that I'm unconsciously smiling. That makes me happy. :)

Getting a new text message, or comment on a video/profile. I don't talk online a lot, I like to talk more in real life, so it's kind of exciting to check them.
It's kind of annoying when it's a FWD:FWD:FWD spam, because I thought someone was going to talk to me.

I like it when I go to the bookstore to get a book I've been waiting to buy for months (or even years). From the moment I get out of the car, I have to restrain myself from sprinting into the store. And when I finally find the book on display, I can't help but (bear) hug it. It's just so exciting.
I miss that feeling. :|

He told me to kill myself... which is totally acceptable. He is stupid but I love him.

Ugh.. I'm with you, Face of Boe. I think I'm going to have to give up on the final book from Clan of the Cave Bear. Jean Auel is near death (or so I've heard). Hardly anything would make me happier than seeing it on the shelves.
I get excited remembering my crazy, overly imaginative childhood and playing games like "Gotcha" with my brother and friends in Forts Barrnacus and Rebout (sp). I lived on a Navy base in Pensacola, FL and we had a great time.
We even played Gothca in the Air Museum lol until the staff realized what we were doing and put a stop to it :D
I even broke into Fort Barrnacus one night after closing, which was NOT an easy thing to do. We had to climb over impossibly tall walls. I was horribly small and thin. I could contort myself and squeeze through the bars to certain areas... but it was kind of boring being there by myself lol
I was happily excited when I realized my lettuce was still good after being in my fridge, unopened for a week :D and that the liver was still good after being there for about 3 weeks
