View Full Version : Gaining Recall TOO fast?

Just wondering, is it possible? I guess I had average recall before I started my dream journal. I susually remembered one dream a night, and only once or twice a month I woke up and couldn't remember a thing. But the first night I started recall training (I must have said "I will remember my dreams" a thousand times XD) I remembered two dreams for the first time in my life. The next night I remembered three dreams and then last night I remembered 5 in an eight hour period of sleep. I reliaze that since I have only had three days of gain so far and nothing is consistant, it is hard to tell if the five dreams was just a stroke of luck.
So, I was just wondering if I was just lucky or if it's possible for recall to grow that fast? I estimate that I'll probably remember two dreams a night from now on, with an occasional 3, 4, or 5 thrown in. And that's not even including that i'll probably only remember one dream sometimes. And now I'm rambling XD. Help appreciated!

You're probably just excited and focused on remembering your dreams, so you're remembering more. The more motivation you have, the more success you will have. Because it's been so soon since you started putting an effort in recalling your dreams, you are just really motivated right now. I'd suspect that in a while, your motivation will lower some, and so your dream recall will be more predictable.

I wouldn't say your dream recall is improving TOO fast. It's good for your recall to be improving, and that it is improving so rapidly in such a short time is wonderful. Of course, if you're remembering dreams you don't WANT to remember, that's another thing, but you can just practice lucidity to avoid these dreams.

Good luck! I'm jealous your recall has improved so quickly. :P
