Okay so lately i've been hallucinating randomly during the day. I'll think I see my cat in my peripheral (sp?) vision, and I'll turn to look at it, only to find it's not there. Of coarse, I'll instantly do a reality check. Which always proves that I'm NOT dreaming.
Is there and explanation for this? Does this happen to anybody else??

I've been thinking I could use this as a potential way to become lucid in future dreams. If I see my cat, I'll do a reality check and become lucid. (Since I always do a reality check after thinking I've seen my cat in WL)

Do You think that would work??

It could work to your benefit as you stated: Reality Checks

I don't think anything is wrong.. Honestly, being a paranormal investigator, you might be around a lot of things that are giving off high EMF.. which can cause anything from hallucinations (what you are stating), nausea, and headaches.. things of that nature...

But like I said before, it could work toward your benefit.. maybe your cat can become one of your dream signs, and maybe you will remember to RC in your dreams :)

hope that helps

Could be increased tiredness.
Not been drinking or smoking more than usual by any chance?

You caught my interest when you mentioned seeing a cat out of the corner of your vision. I go through phases where I will have this also. I don't own a cat, and never have. I don't have any real strong feelings about cats.

For some reason, I get in this mode sometimes where I keep seeing phantom movement out of the corner of my eye, and assume it is a cat. I always warn my girlfriend when it is happening, so she doesn't get freaked out by my strange behavior.

One other thing to note is that I always see real cats, even when they are impossibly hidden. Cat in the bushes on a busy city street? My vision is instantly drawn to it. Cat hiding under my car? I will somehow know it is there, and shoo it away. It is like I have some sort of subconscious uncontrollable cat paranoia, and am always looking for them.

hehe I'm kinda young to be drinking and smoking, so no :)
maybe it was tiredness...

RobotButler, I actually have 5 cats, and I always think I'm seeing one of them.

But I think it must have been tiredness, because I haven't been seeing them lately. And I saw them a LOT that day.

Yep, I get this all the time, too. Usually when I start getting tired... So I guess it's a good theory.
