i almost wilded one time using it..swear to god. i was lying in bed (i was pretty tired) and i set up my bwg like it said on DV and right before i slipped into my dream i felt the really strong presence of a english bulldog.lol it was like he was right in my face staring.it through me off and i didnt wild but it was still weird
There are free versions out there. Sleepphone is what I used. I am highly skeptical as to its applications for lucid dreaming, as binaurals are said to produce a change in brain wave frequency. Beta is the wave for dreaming, but it is also the wave for wakefulness. :/
Makes a good meditation tool, I suppose. Again, you shouldn't be paying for a placebo effect.

Yeah brainwave generator works pretty decently in my opinion really helps to put my body sleep.

I used a BWG to send me to sleep faster one night (that's the initial going to sleep, not WBTB). However many things were different than normal - I was sleeping in a (disproportionately awesome) hotel on a school trip because my teacher is a legend:D. The reduced stress must've helped me to be nearly lucid as well.
I woke up 7 and a half hrs later without alarm, because I heard my friend S knocking on the backdoor. I saw him outside, then he waved and walked off. I did WBTB routine because my friends I shared the rom with were asleep. After 2 hrs my HI started and I was about to have a dream when the wake up call came.:?
Later in the day I tried to explain lucid dreams to my friends on the trip but they didn't believe me;), then I told my friend S about him knocking on the door, thinking he would support me. He said he never did that!

A study I once read showed that higher levels of alpha are linked with dream vividness - Subjects displayed higher alpha levels in a vivid dream than upon waking to a dark room. I say give it a shot :).
