At least we can say we've got anesthesia going for us, at present, which is more than that could say way back then.

Could you imagine any of those tools without some very heavy anesthetic? Ugh. *shudders*

Wow! I'm not going to see anything this halloween that is scarier than those devices.

The tobacco smoke enema was interesting. Imagine how they had to do tobacco enemas before they invented that device!
