View Full Version : Is it just me?

I've always been able to recall my dreams, unless I'm just exhausted, and am in a deeper sleep..then I won't remember them. But, I just recently decided to start recording my dreams anyway.

I noticed one of the things that is constant in my dreams is room/scene changes. I just wanted to know if that happens with everyone, or is just one of my dream signs? I'm never able to stay in the same room..I'll take a couple of steps and be somewhere else, lol.

Other than that, I think it's going to be kind of hard for me to figure out dream signs, because I never realized anything constant -- other than room changes, and being in rooms that have extremely tall buildings, or high ceilings. That's it. :?

A lot of people have their own personal dream signs; things that are almost always prevelant in their dreams. This sounds like an opportunity. If you start conditioning yourself to do reality tests whenever you enter/exit a room or scene, you will no-doubt unconciously reality test while in your dream, thereby gaining lucidity. Read something, say the time, look around for a bit, read it again, and then [i]try to change the time or whatever. If anything changes (such as the time leaping ahead an hour), you are probably dreaming. Good luck!

That's what I figured I'd have to do, do a reality check when entering a new room. I read that you should do reality check when you encounter a dream sign, but I wasn't really sure how I was gonna do that with something such as constant changing rooms..but, I'll definitely give it go.

I'm assuming it all depends on the person, but how long does it normally take to get yourself in a such a habit of checking, you'll be checking in your dreams?

Here's a bullsh*t repsonse that probably won't really help you :) :

I'd think it depends on how dedicated you are. I speak from no scientific background, and little points to support my hypothesis when I say: less than a week. I guess until it becomes something of a habit to you, or second nature, where you find yourself doing it without any initial thought.

I myself have a special little watch that beeps every hour, in addition to the entering/exiting rooms thing(although I am lazy with that).

Ah, ok, sounds cool.

I guess I'm lucky enough to be ahead of the game already in the sense I can recall dreams, and have experienced lucid dreaming before. I skip over all that, and just try to tweak my realizing of lucid dreaming, and my dream control.

isnt that called 'dreamscaping' or something.

in time, dani, im sure you will learn how to control/manipulate it!

To resist is to piss in the wind.
Anyone who does will end up smelling.
Knowing this, why do I defy? Because my inner voice is yelling.
