Until now, ive been using 256kbps. ive had no problems with this, and was not planning on changing anywhere.
Then, out of the blue, today comes a letter.
'we are increasing your broadband package from 256kbps to 512kbps, FREE!'
:o nice!
why did they do this? theyre doubling my speed for no reason. my ISP (called Tiscali) is great!
and its strange how people say that this ISP sucks, ive had no trouble at all with them, and i get this too!
needless to say, i am happy today.

Probably an up in your subscription fee somewhere along the line, or something. Or they just pressed the "MAKE CUSTOMER HAPPY" button on their keyboards at Tiscali headquarters.

nope. i think theyre doing away with the 256k package so i get to upgrade free, as do all other customers. its too early to tell because the order was prob only issued a day or two ago, nothing on the internet about it.
and tiscali have moved their 'headquarters' to africa where the labour is cheap. as are every company with any helpline service.

They probably have a cheaper package with the speeds you used to have, so your now actually paying more for what you used to have, if that makes sense... well nm

They don't expect the average customer to be using all that speed anyway. You had better get "crackin" on those downloads ;)

my computers on 24/7 with broadband, so im using the whole package.
My cost is not getting larger, im paying the same monthly but getting twice the speed. apparently this is happening to a lot of ISPs too, NTL BT etc.

Not happening with BT yahoo, we've just had a price raise and a nice 20 gb download limit put on, so we pay more and get less! God bless BT Yahoo.
