Hello, I'm Nick, and i want to learn to lucid dream. So far i've kept a dream journal for about a month and have been reading everything i can reguarding the topic; and am releaved to have finally found a forum on this topic. Although it's rare to see me post (most the time) i'm always browsing around, so if you don't see me around for a while, don't worry, i'm still around.
Happy dreams!

um..I put this avatar together myself. took a pic of Ihsahn, the vocalist of Emperor (a.k.a. one of the hottest guys ever in my little world) and added the text. it's actually the title of one of their songs, "Curse Ye All Men". haven't noticed that under my s/n? alas...I have been insulted.

it would be easier if the avatars stayed what they were at the time of the post, so we could tell when you changed them and whatnot... because this is getting confusing

^I agree with you Tim to a degree. It gets confusing when you see different avatars and be like "Wait I thought (Insert person) posted that? Am I going crazy. When that happens, then you gotta look at the screen name.

Are you wanting me to shoot you in the head? Or shoot myself in the head? Or make it a suicide/murder?

Maybe next LD I can shoot myself in the head. Might be an interesting experience...

Hi 2nd day on the site first day sign up. I found this place in a wierd way. I was looking for information on a topic here where I work on howstuffworks.com and found how to sleep by accident. I thought this seems like the stupidest thing I have ever heard..... So naturally I had to read it. It talked about different stages of sleeping as this site does and it also mentioned lucid dreaming.

This I had never heard of before so I followed the link provided and found this site. Yesterday I read the whole site... all but the forums, just a couple of those. Anyways to speed this up last night I had a LD... this isn't my first. Altough this is one in a handful.

This also happened after a night of drinking despite the site saying being drunk makes it harder to attain dreams and realization. Once I realized I was dreaming I tried to take control but to my dismay I failed. I think I became a little overwhelmed and I also fell back into a unaware dreaming state. Also since I fell back into the unaware state when I woke I forgot to try and remember my dream.... so all I ended up retaining the was expereince of knowing it was a dream and not being able to take control of it.

Sorry for the longwinded post.

Welcome hilow!!!!

I'm glad you made your way here.
I tend to drink a little too much sometimes. What I've found is that it doesn't keep you from having LDs, just really cuts down on the frequency of them and the amount of control you have.

what would it be like, i mean killing yourself in a LD? crazy.

just started posting on this too. I've had lucid dreams throughout my life here & there but only within the last month did I intentionally, before I slept that is. yeah I was really psyched. I actually realized in the transitional point of going from one dream to the next. then I realized a little into the next dream and walked back into the previous one's environment. but perhaps that kept it as one dream.. whatever. I see a godfather/pacino icon is kinda out of the question.

It's a matter of timing. I'm usually on from 7 am to 4 pm EST. This is prime time to catch our European n00bs!

Since you are on pacific time, I guess you catch most of the U.S.
