Ive been having problems with my computer latly...Its like there is a firewall running that I can't get access to...Anything I install that trys to connect to the net can't...See the thing that really confuses me about this is that programs that are already installed on my computer can access the net just fine...Its the new ones that can't..Any ideas?
What firewall program is installed? Zonealarm?

If you've got service pack two, check your security center and disable Windows Firewall if it is activated. Windows likes to turn it on when you're not looking.

thats allooootta shit. not sure how much ram you got but maybe you shouldnt run so many programs in the background, like whats all that adman stuff, protection probably but with adaware and firefox you're better off anyway... dont think there's a software firewall running among those programs but who knows.... Anyway your problem does sound like the winxp sp2 firewall bullcrap or having zonealarm without knowing it but you dont seem to have those... so the problem lies somewhere else...

I just got rid of the adman thing with my adaware...dunno where that came from but yeah...I have 1gig of ram so it runs fine with all the stuff going.

Nice to have a large amount of RAM, but all those programs will be eating up your CPU cycles. Anyway, if you're an adminstrator account on your computer and you're sure there is no zonealarm or SP2 on...
What programs are you trying to install? What are the names of the ones that already work? Do you use a router to access the internet? What is your ISP? Do you use a proxy to access the internet?

Its pretty much any program that I try to install that ill run into this problem. The ones that already work are things like IE, Messanger, Winamp etc..Things that we installed before this problem aroze. Don't use a router, My isp is Charter and I don't use a proxy

Got any system restore points that could fix it up? Did you install anything around the time this problem arose? *shrugs* I don't have your computer here with me so I can't really figure out much.

Its all good man...Thanks anyways. All the restore points are from after it all happend. I do have a system restore disk but I would lose like 2 years of mp3s, art work etc....and im not to keen on that heh...I could give you access using that remote access thing windows has if your up to that?
