Even emptiness cannot hold back time,
It is our ancient instincts that condemn purity,
The belief in justice has been mistaken for revenge,
Madness somehow manages to unveil clarity.

Truth cannot be obtined without pain,
Divinity should not be trusted, it is irrelevant,
Everything that relates to memory becomes relentless,
Attempting to understand life no longer makes sense.

Alienation is just another form of creation,
Loneliness quickly turns into a sanctuary,
Weakness begins to shatter, it becomes strenght,
Becoming one with the universe seems to be destiny.

Obsession with destruction begins to take over,
Inner demons burst out like a flame, they have control,
What was once known as reality is now just an illusion,
I'm fighting to remain myself... in vain...

This is one of my best poems... (if this is my best, imagine my worst) :-P

Interesting, what motivated you to write it?

To resist is to piss in the wind.
Anyone who does will end up smelling.
Knowing this, why do I defy? Because my inner voice is yelling.

Just thoughts that passed through my mind and I ended up writing them. They just seemed to flow out of me, they were thoughts or beliefs that I've always had.
