You should include another option for those like myself that only smoke socially. I only smoke when I'm out having a few drinks and shooting pool...I also smoke cigars on poker nights. (hehe...but I don't know if that exactly counts)

I used to smoke whenever I was drinking and when I had my one weekend a month with the national guard. Then I got deployed to Afghanistan for 9 months and smoking became an everyday thing. I like to have an occasion cigar too depending on my mood and the atmosphere of the place I'm at. I suppose the way it affects me most is when I have to go buy some more cigarettes. Yea I should definitely quit.
I dont, I see no attraction in smoking and I feel no need to, so I dont see any reason to start with it.
I don't smoke as I hate smoking and it's unhealthy and expensive. It just makes me sick when I'm waiting for a bus at a bus station and then someone starts smoking just next to me . Man I hate the smell of cigarette smoke. My personal opinion is that smoking should be forbidden or something, because the only one that benefits from smoking is the cigarette industry.

i smoke quite a bit. it's just been apart of my diet for a while here. rather than walking a mile to eat shitty food from the university union i just step out and smoke a cigarette. it saves money on food... but i end up spending it +more on smoking. -- i have a pact with a friend to quit once we're both out of college. :| so to answer you: yes, yes.

i smoke weed and cigs. I dont really see it as a bad thing too much. I know its bad for me but it really does releave stress from school (esp the weed :D ). I never do weed on my own tho, I dont see the point in that.

I still cannot understand the physcology of smoking. Mostly because I'm too disgusted to even think about trying it. I've talked to people and they're like, "Well...I kinda just need it. Like coffee, man." Except I can see a few benefits in drinking coffee (when necessary).

Well its good that you hate walking so much adidas. After you get lung cancer and you are carrying around an oxygen tank where ever you go, you wont much feel like walking.

A reason for why I smoke is to kill boredom. I know that sounds very lame but it's true. Especially when I am at the bus stop waiting for the bus after a long day at school.

I don't smoke. My father does, although he does it outside or in the garage to stop us from getting the full brunt of passive smoking (although we do still get it, sadly). I've asked him and nagged him loads of times and he's like "I want to stop but I can't as I am addicted". I wish he would stop, but I musn't touch his precious cigarettes. Oh, and his argument against "smoking makes you die" is that his mother (my grandmother) smokes like, twenty a day, and has done for over ten years, and she hasn't died or got ill yet so they must be wrong.

You say your a communist Joseph_Stalin but dont smoke? i didnt know that communists were against smoking  (lol) (little joke not to offend - hopfully)
I can understand the motivation to smoke pot, its fun! Hey if the oppotunity presents itself i'm not gonna turn down a hit even though it tastes awful. But ciggs? What is the reason to start with it anyway. Your initial few smokes will taste like shit, and after that I guess the need for them comes from the need for nicotine...

Hey, blacklisting isn't as common anymore! Now we communists actually have something productive to do with our time... ;)

Adidas DID say he was gonna quit after college. I doubt a few years of smoking will cause him to end up carrying around an oxygen.
Lighten up perhaps?

I have never, don't, and don't plan on ever smoking -- cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or weed. Smoking is smoking, as far as I'm concerned, and I don't get why you would want to train yourself to suck that stuff into your body, but I respect people's decisions about their own selves; it's your body, so do whatever you like with it. If you feel it helps ease stress, then go for it.

\"Need a light?\"
to me smoking cigs/cigars is waste of my time. weed offers much more bang for the buck.
