I just watched these movies and I have to say that they are awesome.

Both are written and directed by Richard Linklater (Waking Life) and technically would be categorized as 'romantic dramas'. But they are so full of brilliant conversation and original ideas. They remind me a lot of Waking Life (and similarities between the movies are very apparent).

In fact, the scene in Waking Life with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy is an extension of these movies. Those are the exact same character, played by the exact same actors, discussing some of the same topics that they discussed in these movies.

I highly recommend them.

PS. They have nothing to do with lucid dreaming.

These movies are worth mentioning in this fourm for their power to evoke the "in the moment" feeling of life! They work on so many different levels that its hard to find a distinct message or a narrative that the viewer doesnt create within themselves.

i disagree about it not being about lucid dreaming (lol) in my opinion all of Linklaters movies are connected to the feeling of lucidity and are very dream-like in their structure.

i loved the ending of the second movie (no spoiler intended) ;)

Even School Of Rock? lol.

What impresses me is how he can write such riveting dialogue. The movies are basically just a conversation (or a series of them) and he manages to keep the viewer's attention focused so well. But obviously the conversation is just one level.

I liked the ending too.
