Question about CAT?

I was wondering if anyone here is practicing CAT?

I'd like to ask your opinion on it. How is it working out for you? Is it worth the sleep-loss?

Also, so if I got it right, CAT is:

Setting your alarm clock 90 minutes earlier than your alarm clock normally goes, for 1 week. During those 90 minutes, you do loads of RCs and just stay awake.

From day 8, you switch it. You do 1 day of normal sleep, 1 day you put your alarm clock 90 min earlier, 1 day normal sleep, 1 day earlier, etc.

Then after those 2 weeks, you should just go back to your normal sleeping pattern, and you're very likely to have LDs in the morning.

Is that right? :p Want to check if I understood it well xD

Hey,

Yes that's right, waking up 90 minutes earlier than usual helps your REM cycle to become looser. So when you do all those RC's your brain will become more aware. So when you resume your regular dream schedule your brain will act as if you had gotten up already and so become more aware, this will increase the likelyhood of the dreamer recognising that they are in fact dreaming.

This method is just one of the ways of becoming more aware that you're dreaming. The habits you show in the week you wake 90 minutes earlier stay in your brain, its kinda like that. I haven't tried this method myself yet (because waking 90 minutes earlier is a lot for me), but let me know if it really is effective, I might try it out sometime then.

Good Luck

Mm alright. And the part about the second week? Was I right about that too?

Anyway, I MIGHT try it next week. Not sure though, cause indeed, 90 minutes sleep loss is alot x_x

If I do carry on with it, I'll let you guys know my progress.

That is very interesting, I never knew what CAT was. Please do keep us updated on your progress, if you do indeed attempt this!

Mm, I'll start doing CAT starting next monday. It's gonna be a heavy week Since I'll lose about 10,5 hours of sleep total, during the whole week. Does anyone have a expanded tutorial about it? So I'm sure I know I'm doing it right.

And I'll prolly keep a day-by-day diary to let you know how it went

Maybe you should go to bed earlier. To make up for the lost hours of sleep.
