Post The Cube that is your Soul: Decorate it

I don't know how long ago it was, but when I was younger, I had a thought that exited me to no end. I shared the idea, because that is what it was about, and I used to to learn about others.

It has been a long time since I thought about it since, but I will tell you all now, so that I can see your thoughts on this. If this is in the wrong area, feel free to move it.

A hundred meters up, and then a hundred down? Two hundred straight up and no subterranean area? That is your decision. You can fill it anyway you like: Hills, buildings, monsters, magic, anything you can think of you would like to fill that place with. Any type of sky; any type of land.
But here is the catch: Your land is sealed. There is nothing beyond it; the only other place you can go is to others lands, but only if they let you. You live in a cube, and its walls cannot be seen through.

What do you fill it with, Immortal?

      What do you do?
Of course, Two Hundred meters is not actually that big, so you can have any size ... within reason. Planet size is out of the question, but maybe Seven Miles or so ...?

How it is set is permanent, so choose wisely ...

Very interesting idea. I like it.

Can mine be a little planet, like in The Little Prince?

(P.S. How exactly would this work?
Do we describe it? Draw a picture?)

You know it probably sounds weird but that makes me feel claustrophobic just thinking about it. Its funny because I could probably easily live in a large house or a small town without ever leaving and be totally happy. Doesn't really have anything to do with the size but the fact that you can never leave.

Yeah I don't like this cube. Sounds like hell (note* not starting a religious discussion) especially if you're immortal. I'd make it as big as possible, as diverse as possible and then spend an eternity going all Buddha and trying to escape.

sandy beach next to a tiny neighborhood full of chill people next to a ski-hill.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

I'd install the holodeck from Star Trek. That way I can simulate whatever I want, including having more space in the cube.

Finally got some time to sketch my soul.

That's what it looks like but no time to explain it now.

I've got an idea for this that comes forth out of an idea I've had before about perception that I named "The Gridlines"
After a couple of magic mushroom experiences and indepth contemplation of Dreaming I came up with this idea:

The world is a perceptive illusion that holds no absolute truth. What we see and percieve could be within a shperical bubble if your will. This bubble would be around us and on the inner surface of this bubble are gridlines like a 3Dcompass all around you; You're sense of space basically. These gridlines indicate Up(Zenith), down(Nadir), North, East, South and West. Now onto the inner-surface of the sphere the Perception of Reality is projected making it seem as if we're free to roam through an external world, while in fact the only true enviroment is that hollow sphere and it's gridlines you are walking in. Nevertheless is the reality of what you can percieve, and the length you can travel in the "Illusionairy" external world projected onto the inner surface of the sphere, very real in your experience.

      CONCLUSION:
My inner place could be a ball that is just big enough for me to stand upright inside of it and be able to stretch my arms and legs all directions without hitting the sphere's surface. Now it doesn't matter that my "cube", sphere in this case, is a rediculously small space, because inside there, with the projections of external worlds all around you, you have found infinity in the smallest space imaginable

THAT would be my cube. I should really draw it to clearify it.
And it'll probably be one of my last posts since I'm soon leaving this forum. The atmosphere, which once was so joyfull and enthusiastic, is now hostile, intolerant and therefor unpleasant. So I'm fed up with that. I'm gunna miss alot of you kind, brightminded, tolerant DV-members out there.

Hmmm... I have yet to encounter this darkness. Possibly coz I steer clear of certain unmoderated forums... they scare me.

I think that what you have described is the sort of thing that my little planet is. It feels like a universe in itself but it's clearly small enough to walk around in day.
      Kind of like the Tardis.

      Anyway, explanation:

That's me in the middle; earthed in my soul.
Curled around my feet is a sleeping dragon because I was born in the year of the fire dragon.

He's sleeping because his tail is in the water. He was born that way and it keeps him sedated (fire dragons are usually pretty bombastic)
Although every now and then he wakes and rages for a brief moment and then falls asleep again.

To the North is a deep Ocean of emotions, above which floats a palace of whimsical sentiments.

To the East is a forest that is very dark and deep and unfathomable. In there are all my subconscious monsters, all the things that are too dark and scary to consciously deal with.

To the south is a desert of solitude. That is where I question my motives and myself.
It's a hard place to be but it leads to great insights as long as I don't let it overwhelm me.

To the West are the mountains of my highest aspirations and dreams. Dreams of being whole, at peace and at one with the universe lie here.
In the centre of the mountain range is an impossibly high peak. (considering this is a very small planet.)
It's impossibly high because it is the aspiration to understand the meaning of everything, to touch God, whatever you want to call it.
The main thing is it's impossible to achieve.
      Won't stop me trying tho.

The cliffs to the North-West are where those aspirations drop sharply into a sad ocean of realisation that we fall far short of what we want to be.

So that's my cube, and now that I've rambled on forever and a day I'll shut up, except to say I hope some other people draw pictures as well otherwise I'll feel a bit silly.

      EDIT: I forgot the moon!
The moon is above the solitary desert because, as a kid, I used to go outside and talk to her when all the humans I knew just seemed too stupid and ignorant to listen.

Alban, your drawing is just perfect. Can put much else into words

      So here goes my planet.

      This should be fun.

In my planet I want a forest. Not a dark one, but a magical one: I want it to have an embracing magic; lively, colorful beings all around, many beautiful types of plants and perhaps fairies. I want it to be pure and to represent nature the way I think of it: Green, Flowerly, Magical.

Not far from it, I want a small lake of crystal waters, only small enough to swim comfortably. I want the waters to be slightly gelid to touch, and I want the lake to be touched by sunshine.

Close to the lake and the forest I want a grassy field as the centre of all. I also want wolves to roam the land: they're such good company!

At some side I want a rocky horizon,
and at the other one, an ocean. I want to hear the sound of waves and to play on the sands beside it, and I want all kinds of sealife to be there.

I want no dusk on my planet. Only because it's too damn depressive. Instead, I want day to turn into night in a second. When the night comes, I want crickets to sing and I want lights to shed onto the planet.

I want an inconceivably high tower at the other side of the plain. I want it to be dark, but have a romantic style and a refreshing smell of wood and humid earth inside. On the first two floors of it, I want a bed and all that's needed to make a home. On the following floors, I want whatever tower decoration - whatever suits the ambient. And.. the top floor. I want the top floor to be so high that night and day are the same. I want it to be so high that I feel I could touch the moon, and I want to see polar auroras from it. I want the stars to look at me in a nighty way and the planet to be so far away that even my sense of what's above or below seems to vanish.

I also want a flying fortress, but one that flies low. I want my throne to be in it and I want it to have a library - some books already written and some others blank, so that I may write on them. I want musical instruments and I want windows through which I can watch over my planet.

I also want to have a Flammie : one that I can mount and that will fly me around. A Flammie's more or less like this:

I guess that's it... If I find I've forgoten anything, I'll be back to tell.

I've also found it strange that my planet seems so similar to Alban's xD though I swear I wrote this down without ever looking at his drawing.

Also, I'm thinking of making a (computer) 3D model of my planet... if i do, I'll post here.

kromoh, that sounds like the perfect world to me too. The only thing I would say is that some of the beings love martial arts as much as me, and always want to spar and better themselves as I do. possibly some sort of wood creature so that I never really hurt them.

If I was in that situation... I would make a perfect world, sculpting it and making every last detail exquisite, creating smoothly run, ultimate civillizations until it my world was a masterpiece beyond all expression, and then I would make myself insane.

I could never live sanely with those rules. Immortality would be something wonderful until you experience it and you realise you can never escape centuries of pain, that you are only locked in a cage of gold with no room for new experiences, ever.

If I could, I would create my world, watch it tick, and then kill myself on the spot to escape.

But if I am trapped with immortality, I would turn myself into a crazed psychopath, free from all responsibility or doubt, truly free, and make my mind irreversibly tangled and twisted until I completely lose my ability to understand the world, or appreciate what the future will bring, and so make sure that I never realise fully what a hell I am in.

      . . .

By the way, I was speaking logically - If I had a choice, in real life, I wouldn't turn into a psycho so that nothing matters, and become crazy, and not just because I can't - doing that sounds SICK to me.
