Wierd, but I always have to sleep with at least one blanket on me?

Even if it's a thin blanket, like a sheet, I need to fall asleep with at least one blanket on me. Nothing on me, and I feel exposed and insecure. Why is this? Does this happen with anyone else?

This is especially hard during the summer, when I'm sleeping with my thick duvet and no other covers... T_T
I wake up and feel like I was swimming in a pool the whole night. Ew.

Yes, I've always been the same too.

In the summer my wife can sleep with no covers and always comments on my need to have a sheet - even if it's really thin.

Me too.

The weight of a blanket, or sheet upon my body is a comforting experience, which helps me to sleep. Probably a carryover feeling from early childhood.

It's summer now here, and it gets really hot at night. So I sleep in my boxers, use a thin sheet, and turn on a fan. The fan makes me cold pretty quickly, so I feel comfortably warm under the sheet.

I would have to be extremely tired to sleep without a blanket. I just like the warmth and cosyness.

Well, it sounds like pretty much everyone here needs to sleep with a blanket, myself included. I wonder why that is.

For me, I think it's not as much as a childhood thing, but more of a security thing. I sleep on my stomach with my arms at my sides, so my neck is really exposed. I especially like to have covers around my neck.

I usually sleep on my right side because the wall's on my left, and when I was little I thought something would come and attack me if I wasn't looking.

I've also noticed that if I ever do sleep without a blanket, after awhile it starts to feel like there is one. Then I move and it goes away. It's a bit strange.

I used to sleep on my side as well, and get the same feeling. It's like I needed to look into the center of the room, backed up by a wall, so I could tell if something was coming near me. Very strange!

I'm the same way...even in the summer I need to at least have a sheet over me, and maybe a body pillow or small pillow if my back isn't to the wall. When I was a kid I always had to share my room with my sister, so by the time she moved out, I had a hard time sleeping without the illusion of security, like a pillow/blanket barrier. xD
