      JadedSapphire's Workbook

      Hey Everyone!

I'm JadedSapphire and I've been a member here on DV for nearly 10 years, but lost my motivation somewhere along the way...But I'm back and really want to focus on lucid dreaming again I'm starting fresh with a new name change (I used to be DeepBluSurf).

I'm 31 years old and have only had a handful of lucids since I discovered the subject a decade ago.

My goals as of right now are to:
      1. Keep a consistent dream journal
      2. Improve my recall (dream journaling should help with this)
      3. Improve my daytime awareness by practicing ADA
      4. Recognize dream signs

I'm looking forward to this class and will try my best to update daily.

Welcome to the DILD class JadedSapphire!

Can you describe what your idea of ADA is? I will see if I have any input based on how you are practicing ADA. Also try to find a fun component of your practices, if you haven't yet.

You can have amazing lucid experiences with consistent effort. The daytime and nighttime benefits can be significant. I bet that you can get more out of it and go further after 10 years of life experience.

I hope to see you around

      Thank you for your response

My idea of ADA is to stop throughout the day and really become aware of my surroundings and what I'm doing. So far I'm not doing so great with it...I get sucked into my daily routine and don't really think about it. I could set an alarm I guess.

As far as fun components, I've also been practicing dream incubation. My primary motivation for lucid dreaming is for the adventure - a healthy escape from boring, everyday life
I've been meaning to make a list of places/characters I'd like to go/meet in my dreams...just haven't gotten around to it yet.

That sounds fine. If you go the alarm route, find a truly random one like the one on the Awoken app (Android).

I hear you about a healthy escape. You can do so many things in lucids that are impossible or not advisable IWL. Nice lucid dreams can have the effect of making segments of "boring, everyday life" much more interesting. You can start to see the beauty more frequently in the little things that may have seemed mundane before, so it is an all-around worthwhile pursuit.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have an iPhone, but found a random alarm that should work just as well.

I agree, I love the idea of "living another life" while also enhancing aspects of waking life.

Unfortunately, my recall has been absolute crap recently - I haven't been sleeping well...sleep schedule hasn't been very consistent. I'm working to rectify that

My internet has been on the fritz, so I haven't been able to post lately - got it fixed today.

I haven't been setting an alarm to practice my ADA, but I have been remembering to do it 2-3 times a day on my own. No impact on my dreams as of yet...My recall has also been improving a little, I'm able to remember around 2 or 3 dreams a night, though not in great detail.
