saying to myself: im dreaming... did not induce lucidity

Ok so i had this wierd dreams today. I was dreaming that I ate some unknown plant. Nothing happened.. and so i went to bed (in the dream) when i woke up.. (in the dream) i went to toilet.. and i couldnt recognize my father. I realized that i am super stoned. Everything was cirlcling and spinning around me.. i was seeing some little dots.. pixels i could say. And then i said this is a dream! i am dreaming.. i am dreaming .. i am dreaming.. and nothing happened. Everything went grey black with dots. I didnt see nothing. Like the picture was gone. I felt control over my body. but nothing happened. Usually when i say to myself this is a dream.. I just hit lucid instantly. And this time nothing. And then i gave up.. and said to myself.. well ill dream some more.

So it is possible that i was dreaming that i said to myself i am dreaming. and it got me out of a dream in a dream? I wonder if you figure out that you are in a dream.. does it get you out of all dreams in a dream? or just the first one? If anyone have any suggestions or experience about what happened to me.. please share the knowledge. Thanks!

Hi! This once happened to me too. Sometimes when you think about lucid dreaming a lot it can reflect into your dreams, without any actual effects. So yes, it is possible that you were simply dreaming about being lucid. Once I realised that I felt really strange in a dream so I did an RC and everything, but then decided that my brain must've been missing which is why I felt that way :/

I had dreams like this when I started out, too.

It's possible to dream that you were trying to have a lucid dream. This is why it is important to do reality checks along with your questioning - this will give instant reassurance.
