Shift? Why would you need to do that if you only have one pair of ears, the lucario ones.
Just feel and use your ears, don't question which ones are the real ones.
If that doesn't works, try to "feel" them in reality before attempting it in a dream, that way you will be familiar with the feeling and will be able to keep focus on the new limbs more easily.
