      Eye closing problems

      Hi forum!
So I've screwed up about 6 or 7 LDs because I closed my eyes in them. Basically I get lucid and do my stuff in my dreams but for some reason i would close my eyes, when trying to open them again...I open my real eyes and i'm full awake... SUCKS

Last night I was in a LD with someone I really like, I was kissing the girl and during the kiss I naturally closed my eyes... I stayed with my eyes closed in fear to open my real eyes. So I told the girl(a dc) to open my eyes for me and she did. She opened my "dream eyes" but I couldn't see anything... everything was black so I had no other solution but waking up.

Do you guys have any tips/ideas/suggestions for me?

If you imagine a dream scene for a few seconds while your eyes are closed, one should appear.

I used to have this problem as well. What I did is quite simple: I closed my eyes
If you think about it there is no real reason why closing your eyes would wake you up, I mean personally many of my normal dreams have some sort of dark scene and it doesn't wake me up !
Just close your eyes with that in mind, stay relaxed and you'll prove yourself that you can close your eyes in a dream without waking up (stabilize the dream as you do it if it makes you feel more comfortable )

      Hey thanks for replying.
My exact problem isn't that I wake up when I close my "dreaming eyes". My problem is that when I close them I try to open them again but confuse them with my real eyes, so I open my real eyes by mistake and wake up.
I'm in a lucid dream, I try to open my "dream eyes" and confuse them and I open my real sleeping eyes, thus I wake up

      Here's a thought:

When you find yourself with your eyes closed in a dream, don't open them at all.

Remind yourself that in your dream you actually have no eyes; only perception. Then simply choose to see again, and allow the dream to visually return without going through the motion of opening your eyes.

This might take a bit of practice, but once you have it down you can avoid accidentally sending an "open" signal to your physical eyes... and, ironically, once you have this skill in place you likely will never use it, because you will have advanced your skills to a point where you probably wouldn't accidentally open your pysical eyes anyway.

Hey, thanks for the tip. It's a very interesting approach, I will try this for sure.

Haha I used to close my eyes when i had a nightmares to wake up. But it's just about your mind. Later I tried to close eyes during LD and the world got a bit scattered but it's possible to remain in dream, you just need to believe it ^^
