Question MAYDAY! MAYDAY! Losing control - Tips needed!

Hey everyone, It's been a few years since I've visited this forum, It feels so good to be back. I've been so busy with other things in my life that I stopped my lucid dreaming adventures a few years ago. I've never had a natural knack for lucid dreaming, yet randomly out of the blue, I've had two very lengthy lucid dreams in the past week! The only problem i'm having is with control and other aspects similar. How do I work on harnessing control in a dream? I found that in both my recent lucid dreams, I would realise i was dreaming and immediately spring into action trying to do what ever came to mind. I would do this for a few minutes then i slowly would start drifting back into normal dream activity. It's like I was in control, lost control, then regained control again, it was on and off like this for a while.

I assume that I may need to work on recall and awareness? How should I go about doing this? Are their any in-dream tips you can give me to stay focused on lucidity and controlling the dream.

To end on a funny note, In my last lucid dream i decided I was going to attempt flight. Jumped out of my 3rd story bedroom window and THUMP! Guess I need to work on flying too LOL!

Thanks guys for any tips you can give me!

      Welcome back!
Hahah the flying story. Yeah happened to me as well once.
From my experience it's just about trying and trying, the mind will eventually get used to it and you will get more and more control over your dreams.
Don't forget to do RCs not only in the beginning but also during the whole dream. I know what you're talking about with trying everything and losing control instead. Just stay calm and try to do whatever you want one by one with reminding yourself "This is just a dream." or "I am still dreaming.". Really important is to calm yourself down in the dream and feel the dream-world around you. Look around yourself and touch all the object around to make the dream more stable.
