This is a pattern that many lucid dreamers seem to have. In their earliest lucid dreams, they have very good dream control because they haven't had experience with dream control failing. They expect all their attempts at controlling the dream to work, and they usually do! However, they soon have some lucid dreams in which their dream control fails. This makes them less certain of their success in later dreams, which ends up making their dream control worse. But over the course of their lucid dreaming careers, as they have more and more lucid dreams and experiment with different dream control techniques, their dream control improves again and eventually surpasses its starting point. |
