Dream. Intercourse, recent breakup and worms.

I have recently broken up with my girlfriend about 2 days ago. It was not under good terms, but it was mutual. I have dreams, very often. But a dream I had last night has me perplexed. If anyone can shed some insight I would appreciate it. I have researched the meaning of worms, intercourse etc. on the web. But if someone has a more in-depth explanation regarding this dream I would love to hear it. I was having intercourse with a woman that I have never met, yet I wasn't emotionally attached to her in the dream, strictly physical. I still knew that in the dream that I cared for my ex. The woman was out of the room, and I was touching one of my dreadlocks and a large translucent worm, containing 3 other dark worms inside of it, fell out and onto the floor. I stepped on it, killing all of them. I seen a few other scattered insects that I had killed beforehand as well. It was vivid, and disturbing when I had woke. What confuses me is that I was completely loyal to my ex-girlfriend, and that in my daily life I *never* kill insects, I escort them outside. Intercourse with a random woman with no attachment, worms, insects, killing them. If anyone has an opinion, or wishes to help, I would appreciate it. Thanks

First, be wary of anyone claiming in-depth knowledge. Second, dreams quite often feature us doing things which are counter to our real life values. In short, if we can think it we can dream it. Sounds to me like sex and emotional attachment go together for you. Yet in your mind you know they can exist separately otherwise you wouldn't be able to explain your intimate experiences in these terms. Maybe you think that sex with anyone other than her would be meaningless? That's just a guess, mind. What strikes me most of all is that many I've read about people having intimate experiences an feeling intense emotion towards the other person. For that reason, I'm thinking not so much "why am I having sex with a stranger?" as "why aren't I in love with the stranger?" (loyal people get love dreams with strangers and find it disturbing). Maybe sex, as an act, for you is not something you care about but sex as being symbolic of emotional attachment means much more? I'm not sure what to say about the worms. Freud connected these with the penis (as we might expect) but in my experience insects in general mean irritating thoughts. So killing insects means getting rid of these unhelpful thoughts. I had a worm in my dream the other day and I don't know why other than it seemed to be connected with harmful bacteria in food. Don't know if that helps.
