Death and the afterlife: 2 dreams that go with each other.

THE DREAM : My dad and I were in my red car about to go somewhere. It was cold and snowing outside and everything was white. He warned me to be careful not to hit anything because of the ice, I told him to hush in a joking manner. I went to back out, but I hit a white car that was behind me and cracked the bumper. My car stopped working, and we slid backwards into my neighbor's yard which was suddenly a frozen pond. My side of the car started to sink into the now cracked ice, and it was so cold that I couldn't unbuckle myself. The owner of the white car came and started yelling at me to plead the third, holding three fingers up. Her nails were painted bright red. My dad managed to get out of the car, but wouldn't help me until I said I plead the fifth, but I was so cold I couldn't say anything. I was so afraid, but I kept trying to whisper it out and reach for him. He eventually looks at me disappointed and says "She pleads the third." The last thing I see is his face through the ice as the water covers my head and I die.

      Dream 2: A Continuation

I suddenly wake up to see that everything is dark except for the stars and that a chisel and hammer are lying by the pond. Someone has chiseled me out of the ice that killed me. I realize that I'm in the after life. I see the stars, and manage to make out that I'm somewhere in the mountains. It's cold here, too, but a pleasant cold. Suddenly a voice tells me that I can fly, but to understand the world I live in, I must swing on the ropes. Then, these huge, white ropes appear and there are several platforms. With every rope challenge I complete, a new village is exposed in the mountains. Eventually I get to the last rope, and am instructed to swing on the rope and land on the back of one of the fluffy white ponies on the neighboring mountain. I'm scared, so I say that I can't. The voice says that I can, but if I'm unwilling to face my fears, then he can't help me anymore. Before the presence of the voice is gone, I grab the rope and swing, landing on one of the horses. It is beautiful and soft. I ride it while the voice tells me that I should never fear here, because nothing bad can happen. Then I come upon a bear. I manage to fly away to one of the villages where a tall man in a green shirt meets me. Then I wake up.

THE BACKGROUND:I'm a 20 year old female living away from home at college for the first time. Before bed, I read "Starry Night," by Anne Sexton. I had a pleasant day before bed. It was warm and I went to a pumpkin patch with my friends. It's still autumn here. My father and I have a really great relationship. I'm not very stressed about school right now, much less so than others. I usually don't worry about my dreams unless they're bad, but I don't feel like this was a bad dream, and it has resonated with me all day.

It seems to symbolize you moving from home for the first time and tasting freedom. But its also challenging. It describes your life right now in symbolism apparently.
Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake
