Thread: Setting my house on fire

Hi all,

I've recently had a very vivid dream which initially startled me. Below is a step by step sequence of what I remember:

-I am living in a huge palace like estate (imagine Wayne Manor from the Batman films) within the woods isolated from the rest of town. In my house, I live with my younger sister and another friend (cannot remember who he/she was but do know for a fact we're close given that I didn't feel isolated from him)...I do not recall if my parents or other family members are living in the same mansion as I am

-I find myself in the grand hallway of the estate which is filled with European artwork and paintings which are illuminated by candles on the floor

-Out of rage (cannot remember the reason why) and whim, I knock over one of the candles from which the fire starts to slowly spread throughout the hallway - I am alone in the hallway at this point

-I watch the fire slowly burn the artwork and hallway as I make my way back into my room at the end of the corridor to escape the flames

-The fire eventually creeps its way towards my room, which happens to be separated by the main burning hall by another small corridor

-As I make my way through the smaller corridor and into my room, I see my DJing equipment (turntables and records, which are placed on my dressing shelf within the small corridor) about to get engulfed in the flames - My sister and my friend at this point also make way into my room to escape the flames

-However before I can see the actual damage to my equipment I hear the automatic water sprinklers in the smaller corridor activate before completely destroying the contents placed in the smaller corridor (please note that there are no water sprinklers in the main hallway)

-The next thing I realize is that I am not in the house anymore but outside of the forest where my house is located...but in the distance I can see my mansion engulfed in flames (I do not recall whether my sister or my friend is next to me)

Lately I have been under some personal stress as I had been recently let go from my job. Given the current situation of the world economy, my company basically pinned a reason to fire me. The reason they explained to me seemed quite preposterous not only to me but my other colleagues (I had downloaded mp3s, itunes, other entertainment media and p2p software over the course of two years on my work laptop, which is against company IT policy. The fact that they only told me about this now without any warning and had to fire me for that is the most frustrating part).

It is important to note that I had dreamt this dream only 3 weeks after I had been let go from my job. I had recently spent the last week at my parents house (currently I live alone in a different country) and had a chance to catch up with them post my incident. Given that they are my parents, they were naturally worried sick about me and whether I would be able to get a new job anytime soon.

To shed some light on the DJing equipment, I have a strong liking for music and have been spinning records ever since I was in middle school. I am now 25 and still to this day time to time DJ for parties and at clubs (this is only a hobby and part time job if you want to call it that...) It is also interesting to note that I have not used my turntables and records ever since I had graduated from college 3 years ago (I use more digitialized equipment now).

What does all of this mean? I have read from many sources that fire represents transformation, but how does this tie in with the water sprinkles as well as my DJing equipment?
