Really weird dream involving my mother

OK, a few months ago I posted about a weird dream about demons. I normally don't remember dreams, and I don't have dreams that are so realistic and make me feel so strange very often. But I had another one last night. (Please forgive me for the length.)

I "woke up" in the dream in what appeared to be my childhood home. I was in my parents' bed. I haven't lived in this house in years, and I was immediately aware that something wasn't right. After a moment, I realized there was someone laying next to me - it was my mother. (In real life, I live with my mother.) When she realized I was up, she jumped up and looked at me. She looked very unnatural - she was obviously shorter and thinner than she is in real life, and she looked about 10 years younger. I didn't realize it at first, but she had giant, shiny, unnaturally black eyes. Her voice was unnaturally high-pitched, and her facial features just looked wrong (other than the black eyes).

She started talking to me. I don't remember all of what she said. Whenever she talked, I felt absolutely terrified. Everything seemed so, so wrong. She explained that there was nobody left where she was, and she brought me there because she was lonely. She said that she could be my mother if I just believed in her. She mentioned that she knew I had pets in real life, and she pointed out that she had created a pet for me. It was a giant metal garbage can with a shadowy figure hiding in it. She said that it was a rabbit. When she said that, I jumped out of bed and got out of that room.

When I was looking around the house, it struck me that I was in an alternate reality. That was the only explanation that made sense. The house was an odd combination of my childhood home and the house I live in now. It had very little furniture, and some of the details looked off - as if it was an unfinished painting. Random objects around the house were engraved with random words. None of the words were in English, and some were in alphabets I've never seen before. I'm not convinced those alphabets even exist. I don't remember any of them except for one. That one was sbfamlP. I can't get it out of my head. It was engraved on a huge white coffee cup. My "mother" was following behind me. She had a huge grin on her face when I found the coffee cup. I felt that sbfamlP was her name.

As I was walking around the house, I realized that the landscape outside was very strange. The land was completely flat. The sky was a deep purple color. All of the plants and trees outside were dead. I tried to leave the house, but every door led to somewhere I had once been in real life - but with everything frozen in place.

Eventually, I realized there was no way out. I was horrified. My "mother" seemed to read my mind. She grinned unnaturally again. She told me that I could never leave, and that the only way out would be to solve the puzzle in the engraved objects - which I somehow knew would take centuries. She forcefully made me hover into a jail cell in the kitchen, which was just a badly drawn sketch at this point. At some point, a being who I knew to be "the bad priest" appeared in the house. His hair was white, and he had unnatural, beady black eyes. His clothes and skin were a glowing white color. I felt he was very happy with my "mother" for taking me.

After a while, two more people appeared in the house. I believe one was a young man named "Brethren", who I've seen in dreams in the past. The other was an older man who I didn't recognize, though he seemed familiar. They seemed very concerned. They told my "mother" that they were "the good priests". The younger man stood next to me while the older man argued with "the bad priest" in a language I didn't understand. Eventually, the older man approached me and said that they were taking me with them, and that I didn't belong there. I followed him out the front door and the dream ended.

When I woke up, a family member was knocking on my room's door and wanted to talk to me. Here's the weird part - I felt that I fell into myself when I woke up. You know those dreams where you feel like you're falling, and you wake up with a start? It was like that, but I wasn't scared. I felt like I fell a good distance into my bed, which left me with a very heavy feeling for a few minutes.

Today, I feel very grateful to be back in real life. Strange as it sounds, I feel like I really went somewhere. Everything seems so warm, good, and beautiful today. I just can't get the dream out of my head. I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out what it was and what it meant. Thank you.

(Also, interesting side note: My computer crashed 4 times while I was writing this. Sorry if the last few paragraphs seem rushed.)

Could you tell us a bit more about your relationship. With your mother, do you get along? You mention you live with your mother: is that by choice, or would you rather live on your own? What are the issues that are on your mind, what is currently important in your life? Without knowing any of at, it is hard to interpret a dream in a vacuum. For example one could speculate that maybe you feel trapped having to live with your mother, but that may be completely wrong. So if you tell us a bit more about yourself, it will allow us to hopefully save ourselves the embarrassment of going down a wrong and unhelpful path, and make it more likely that we speculate closer to the truth.
