need some interpretation of this dream

      Hello all!

I had the wierdest dream last night and would like some thoughts about maybe what it was about.

First some background. I have very vivid and very violent dreams most of the time. I'm not sure why, but I've just accepted it.

This dream was very different. i found myself at my coworkers house only its not her house, its our house. were sitting on the couch cuddling watching a " chick flick" and talking about what were gonna do after.

Now as to real life i dont really like this coworker very much. im happily married to a wonderful woman and have no desire to cheat on her, but in this dream its clearly not my wife and for some reason when i woke up this morning i missed her, i still kind of do... im really perplexed and dont know what to do. i didnt see anything out of the ordinary for a real life scenario, no blue turkeys or melting clocks or anything like that, but things that are out of place for my current real life, like the co worker, watching the "chick flick" and there being a white picket fence out front of the house. about the only thing i can figure is my brain was tired of voilence, but this dream was so vivid im still having emotional whiplash from it and i woke up two hours ago.

anyway, thanks for any comments or advice that anyone can give!

      Jera

As for the dream, I think it's just one of thouse thoughts in our subconcious that aren;t apparent when we are concious. I often have dreams where I seem to "like" people I dislike irl. Our subconcious has many thoughts that can only be revealed to us through dreams.

The dream suggests a situation in which you could use a mental attitude that is more feminine or emotional (in a female coworker’s house) one that in reality you would acknowledge as belonging to a woman yet here you could see it also as your way of thinking. (its our house)

You may be couching something (we’re sitting on the couch), that is, hiding something from yourself probably in relation to the couple aspect of living and couple activities. (cuddling watching a "chick flick" and talking about what were gonna do after)

What is also being couched is an emotional perspective you have, one represented by the coworker, one it might pay or benefit you to work with. The cuddling shows an affection for an idea or feeling that in reality you would not have.( i dont really like this coworker very much) The scene shows that when you have more affection for an emotional perspective that is not your favoured, you could see yourself watching a “chick-flick” and planning a couple’s activity. [Do you ever spend time with your wife doing these things? Do you need to acquire and use a different feeling than the one you live with usually in order to act this way? Are your wife’s emotional needs being satisfied by your present behaviour?]

Waking up and really missing that woman who appeared in your dream is simply emphasizing that what you may be missing – meaning lacking or in want of – in your waking world is an emotional perspective that could work for you and which is different from your usual one.

The white picket fence is often associated with suburban living – the complete home, happily married couple and domestic bliss. But – note what is going on inside the home – some cuddling, “chick-flicks” and activities done together.

Real individuals in dreams often don't represent themselves but rather a character quality or your state of affairs with that person. As an unimportant coworker (from your past?) she probably represents a quality. This raises the question of how you would describe her. What is the personal quality of being you miss?
