So, i killed somone lastnight for the firsttime in a LD

(Cut their head off with a knife)

I thought i would love it, but honestily...it has disturbed me all day long.
I am pretty numb to violence (or so i thought)
Maybe i just need to kill more people? But for now i think i am going to stay away from that..

Has anyone else had a experiance like this?

Was the firsttime hard for any of you Lucid dream murderers?

No I have yet to attain such power over my dreams...but I am sure murdering someone would give a strange perverse pleasure in my loins...wait what did I just say?

If it disturbs you then what would compel you to ask if you should do it some more? It's not like killing people is something you ought to enjoy doing (nor is it something you ought not to); if you find decapitating DCs traumatic, then don't do it. Personally if I went into a lifelike LD and eviscerated someone I would be freaked out beyond measure. If this is something you just want to prove you can do you on impulse so you can achieve Ultimate Lucid Control, then, well... just because anything can be done doesn't mean it has to; it's your dream, do what you like (and apparently you don't like slicing heads).

LOL bro, lions? I love when posts make me laff out loud.

Spamtek, you have a great point, and i am going to follow your advice, i guess i dont like cutting heads off.
But after watching the movie 300 it looked like sooo much fun!

I dont care much for morals in the LD world but for my own mental health i think i am not going to kill people anymore, at least for a while, theres tons of other stuff to do.

Hey, that's weird, I kind of killed someone last night too, but I wasn't lucid. I was attacked in a basement, and I saw a tool-box, and I grabbed something to hit with, but it turned out to be a sword and I slashed into somone. It was horrible, and woke up like I do when dreams get too bad.

I don't think you should do it if you don't like it.

I've killed people before (in a dream ) and I don't feel anything but then you have to remember they are not real just parts of your imagination. Ok the way you killed him was saddistic but it still wasn't real. I mean its no different to killing a character in a video game or watching an action movie.

You'll get over it, maybe next time turn the Dream Character into some thing less human like a zombie or and alien?

Lol thats ironic moon, and i think i said knife in my post? But it really was a sword too, i walked into the room and there was a selection of them in a garbadge can.
I wish i wokeup when my dreams got bad right away

You also make a good point Neavo, i think part of the reason it was so real to me was its somone i know IRL, not just a madeup DC.

Nexxtime i see this person i think its going to be just a little bit weird..

That's really weird that we both had a dream like that on the same night. I wish instead of waking up I would become lucid, but it's just a habit I got into before I knew about lucid dreaming, to protect myself from bad dreams.

You might want to be less violent. I don't know why violence is so appealing or why we adults allow so much of it. From mindless video games to even more usless toys, commercials, music, music videos, which in my opinion are nothing but porn

At any rate, I wanted to post this bit of knowledge. In Stephen La Berge's book on lucid dreaming he proves scientificly that what you dream you do is more like really doing it than just daydreaming or thinking. The brain reacts as if the event were real. The same areas of the brain are active while counting in reality and while counting while in a lucid dream but this is not so if you just think of counting.

So basicly you did murder someone or at least your brain thinks it did and is suffering the trauma.

EDIT: I just wanted to post that the stuff I said concerning LaBerge's studies starts on page 78 of his first lucid dreaming book: 'Lucid Dreaming The Power Of Being Awake And Aware In Your Dreams' ISBN: 0-345-33355-1 and on page 87 he talks of the singing and counting experiments. Lucid dreamers signaled with eye motions in a pattern that was recorded by one of those machines with all the ink needles and then they'd count or sing in the dream and the brain was monitored.

I would like to encourage people, that if they want to buy LaBerge's books, to buy them second hand as they do sleep research on animals at Standford University by f'ing with their brains and attatching horrid electrons to them and I am 100% AGAINST animal research, I wouldn't use medicine even if I were diagnosed with cancer, so I don't want to encourage you to buy his books in a way that he might get money in case he is doing any of the animal based research. Buy the books second hand. Amazon and ebay are great places to get stuff cheap. Thank You.

Peace

Murder is nothing to me, unless it would be an intelligent DC like my DG. They are part of your mind, sure, but they are senseless. If I can find a plethora of intelligent DC's, then I'd stop murdering.

Quite frankly, I wouldn't go for such a gory kill on my first try, but I don't like the idea of trying either...
and I wouldn't make the person very human... maybe a zombie or something.

Some people think they are immune or have a tolerance to violence, but once you've experienced it in person, or in the dream body it can be surreal.

Don't let it bother you. It wasn't real, and you wanted to experience something you haven't. It's like someone doing drugs for the first time, and regretting it after. It happens, don't hate yourself for it, and always seperate it from real life.

If you check out my dream journal you will notice a pattern of violence. It's not cool, I'm not here to promote it, but realize it's almost natural and some people are comfortable with it and others are not, it's ok either way.

Just focus on something else in your next LD.

I have murdered humans in my lucids, and did not feel bad about it. However, when I have had dreams where I have fought cat animals such as tigers, lions, etc. I have disliked to hurt them, but done so to defend myself.

omg, once, i had this lucid (non controlled) dream where i was a wolf and was ravaging a village and slaughtering everyone! that left me shocked for the next week or month- there was so much blood and gore! finally, the last vilager left alive killed me with a shotgun.

was that maybe a past life or just a dream?

anyhow, it was still scary.

@skuruza, please dont ask such questions. How can we possibly answer them? It depends on belief and besides its an answer only you can answer!

About the violance. If the dream was very vivid.. Man, I would be shocked too. Its like killing a person in RL. With the exception that it isnt RL.

When I will have more long lucids, im definetily gonna try killing someone. Maybe im gonna try destroying the whole dream world Earth!

Oh, you know something? I got this strange idea in my mind that all those 'alien experiment' horror stories are not really aliens but vivid, though not understood correctly, recalls of a past life when these people used to be test animals in a labratory. That big eyed, grey alien could be how animals see us. I don't know if all animals see color or not. But have you ever seen your reflection in a spoon or your shadow where your head becomes shaped like the greys and in the case of the reflection your eyes get really dark and large?

I don't have proof and I don't believe in reincarnation or god but this idea has disturbed me. It might be that I am just a big animal lover and this idea is based from my natural concern and love for animals and hatred of animal testing.

www.stopanimaltesting.org

This is a very good thread to ponder. I think we all at this forum should make a sort of morals in dreams guide We might could think of better ways of handling dc's than killing them and other ways of handling nightmares and monsters.

Well I've thrown people I know across fields before and that didn't bother me. Just remember its just a dream and that you are not a murderer Besides you'll get over it after a few days.

I used to have that feeling too, but I've mainly killed in non-lucid dreams.

In those dreams, I'm either very numb to the DC's death or utterly devastated and it bothers me for awhile when awake, as for that lucid dream... I felt guilty and a little panicky but I reminded myself it wasn't intentional and he was only a DC, nothing more. But if you feel bad about killing, would you really want to do it more on purpose?

I've pretty much decided to not kill people in LDs. I once had a non-LD where I was a serial killer, and I kept trying to convince myself and the DCs that it was a dream, but I just couldn't convince myself. After I awoke, it took me a long time to get back to sleep.

I've had disturbing non-LDs where I've killed a whole bunch of people, along with an LD in which I was forced to kill an evil me... didn't enjoy any of the dreams to be honest. I'd rather just keep it to video games and the like.

I'm beginning to feel weird that I do not have the desire to kill people in dreams. I don't think I've EVER killed someone in a dream, let alone a lucid dream. I don't understand the desire to.

Actually... the non-LD ones where I ended up killing a bunch of people were the ones where I went insane. One was when a bunch of chavs (juvenile delinquents) come onto the bus I'm riding back from uni, and start mugging the bus driver. Something in my head snaps, and I just brutally murder the chavs. The other one involves me going steadily insane, nearly posing a risk to all my friends, though after being sent to a mental hospital, the meds I'm given fail and i murder all the staff... Not pleasant... The LD one I've described in my intro post, so i can't be bothered to reiterate the details on that one.

Those to me don't sound like game plots... BUT I have had dreams based on video games... especially one called F.E.A.R.. Now that was scary, being chased by the game's spectral antagonist, Alma (a ghost of a little girl in a red dress). It involved me going through a dimly lit building (just like in the game&#33 with a bunch of teammates, all of us wielding some formidable firepower. However, we all spot Alma, and immediately, one of our guys goes pop... flesh and blood spattered everywhere, leaving a bloody skeleton behind in his place (again, just like in the game). We all make a run for it, but eventually come to a dead end. We then get ourselves into position, training our guns down the hallway where Alma was. When she approached, we all opened fire. Despite us firing like mad, nothing happened, she just kept coming closer and closer. The first one to go was the machine gunner, pop.... and then in quick succession all of the other teammates. So there I am, covered in the blood of my teammates/friends, out of ammo and with Alma straight in front of me. Getting desperate, I run upto Alma and try to hit her with the butt of my weapon, but as soon as I get close, I am thrown right back against the wall without her doing anything. When I look up though, there she is, standing extremely close to me. Then she grabs my crotch. I mean, what the hell... but that doesn't end there. When she grabs my crotch, I feel as if I am actually getting touched on my crotch in reality. So immediately, I force myself awake from the dream, rising from my bed to reach out and grab whoever was touching me, except I grab nothing but air. I didn't kill anyone in that, but damn, it was a messed up dream. Other's include a Day of Defeat: Source match played around one of the houses I used to live before. That was a fun dream....

Lol blue if i had a FEAR game based dream i would poop in my pants

-Ataraxis, I think the reason i want to kill is becuase its something you litarilly "cant" experiance IRL...not many people know what its like. And that said, i automaticily want to do it.

If you were to say "Eating blueberry pancakes will land you in jail for 25 years!"

I would be eating them all day long in my Lds lol.

Reble side? Maybe.
