Falling In love in a dream

Hey I need help with a very strange dream I had and the consequences.
I am 18 years old. I had a dream last night, that I was somehow back in the 1990 - one year before I was born. I remember that these were kind of good times for my country. I was at a top stop of a chair lift. There I met this pretty girl who was dressed in clothes from the 90s. We had a chat about something then we got on the chair lift and had that awesome "eye to eye love contact just before you kiss" moment. Then we kissed. I immediately fell in love for some reason. When we got down we went to a restaurant. I asked for her name but she didn't give me an answer. I had some kind of work in the other room so I told her I'd be right back. I went back afterwards but then the stupid dream got freaky and I never saw her again. The rest of the dream was me fighting a huge fat guy .. LOL ..

When I woke up I was .... dunno how to say it... still in love?! I was hurt... I was thinking of her and my heart bounced ... I was like WTF!!

I have had girlfriends before, I have fallen in love in real life - once. The dream girl had nothing to do with my real life past love.

Can anyone help me understand what happened there, in my head?

I am sorry if there is another thread like this.

This would be much better if moved into the interpretation section. Anyways, some emotions carry over when you wake up which in your case was your love for this DC. It'll eventually vanish during the day or over the next couple of days. Dreams have the ability to color our mood and emotions for days to come which is why when you have a good and happy dream, you feel that way the rest of the day

There's also something to do with how our brains work. Our emotions are heightened when we are dreaming because of the way our brains work when we dream It's absolutely normal to fall head over heels in love with someone in your dreams! I love those romance dreams. They're so epic!

Carl Jung calls this your "anima". Look it up on wikipedia. Males fall in love with women who embody the qualities of their "anima". Women have an "animus" which is a male anima. The yearning for to fall in love is to connect with your anima psychologically. That romantic numinous feeling is between you and your hidden psyche, which is feminine if you are male.
We project that onto others in our waking life. That is why that feeling doesn't last in relationships. Eventually the honeymoon ends, that is when we have to deal with the 'reality' of the other. When we have a crush on someone we fall in love with the idea of that person. That is the anima. There is magic in it.
In the past people projected the anima and animus onto their gods and goddesses like Krishna and Venus. Marriages were very much arranged and other marriages were for survival. Romance wasn't important in relationships back then, and instead that numinous romantic feeling was embodied by gods and faerie tales. Relationships were much more realistic in the past than they are today. Now people expect their lover to be a prince or a princess. And when they find out that they are not, they leave and look for another to project the anima onto.
Good for you for falling in love in a dream! It IS beautiful, isn't it?

That is great! And it is normal, I have had some really strong emotions in my dreams. She could be your Dream Guide you never know, next time you goto sleep think of her, how she looks. the way she sounded. Every little detail you remember. And if you have a lucid try calling out for her, you don't need her name because you give it to her.

I know what you mean with these types of dreams. The best dream of my life happened about seven months ago and got me into dream stuff. It was a love dream and I woke up and was still in love for maybe two weeks. It didn't help that it was about a girl in real life that I used to know. I talked to her and realized that she wasn't the girl in my dream and got over it.

I've had one.....or two of those dreams. You always feel like a puffy cloud of emotions afterwards. (Not me though, I'm a man! MENERGY!!!). Ok, once I woke up and found myself completely making out with my pillow. Uh, yeah.
It doesn't strike me as something that could cause someone to 'fall in love', but rather just to feel 'love' for a period of time afterwards.
(I don't believe in love though, I'm a man! SHOCKOLATE! WITH LIGHTNING! REAL LIGHTNING!)

      Moved to Dream Interpretation

I had a dream like this when I was 13-14, that really stuck with me. I was in a gypsy camp where everyone was drinking and dancing, and I went out behind the wagons, where I met a girl my age (I don't think she was a gypsy, either) and we made love--whatever my idea of making love was at that time xD At any rate, it obviously made an impression, as it's one of the 5-10 dreams from my childhood I still remember.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

WOW! All the replies are extremely interesting. Especially the one with the "animas". Thank you. I learned quite a lot! I am interested in dreams, not because as grannies say "they can predict the future", but because dreams are produced by our brains. I want to know what my sub-conscience is thinking, seeing, feeling. Very interesting!

      P.S. LOL

I too have had many of these type of dreams. Now I know what true love is. It makes me just a little less of an SOB and more compasionate and understaning in my daily life. We can always invoke that experience and meditate on it and ...remember.
