      Is that a pic of Orpheus? He looks a little ill - or maybe he's just sleeping in that pic? Anyway, six months is long enough to mourn the poor little fish - time to move on to a new betta!

      It&#39;s funny, people think of their cats and dogs as just &#39;pets&#39;, but there&#39;s so much more to them than that. They&#39;re living beings, just like us, they have thoughts, they can communicate, they have personality. Sure, they&#39;re smaller, but these little guys are our companions, our friends.

      My tabby, Charlotte, whom I&#39;ve had since I was five (I&#39;m sixteen now), has had some pretty interesting things happen to her. When we were living in a townhouse, when I was probably 8 or 9, she disappeared. My family assumed she had wandered off into the forest near our house and was killed by coyotes or bears. My heart was broken, I loved that cat, she provided me comfort ever since my parents divorce, but then she was gone.

      A month later she returned, my neighbour had found her on the street wandering. She returned her to us. I was so happy. I can&#39;t even begin to imagine what happened to her though, what&#39;d she do in that forest for a month? What&#39;d she eat? Where&#39;d she sleep? It fascinates me that she, a housetrained tabbycat, managed to survive on her own in the depths of the woods.

      She&#39;s still here, too, sleeping on my bed at the moment. But she&#39;s always been different since then.

      Awwww... cute pets everywhere. I have a soft spot for animals. So much so I now have 4 pets... all new additions to the home within the last few months. Have one found dog that looked like she was starving when we found her, a black kitten that had been attacked by something. His lip and ear are ripped. Two yellow budgies that my mother didn&#39;t want.

      Here&#39;s a quiet moment when my brats were sleeping together on the chair. Usually they&#39;re tearing through the house chasing each other or play fighting.

      <div align="center"></div>Cat: Padre (has a tiny white patch on his neck that vaguely reminded me of a priest&#39;s collar)
      Dog: Muttface (she has other names but I called her muttface for the first few months, not wanting to name her in case her owner came and claimed her. She&#39;s still here and she responds to Muttface better than any other name)

      I have two dogs, they&#39;re from Africa and they&#39;re called Azawakhs, called Sable and Shamare.

      Sable is a complete dunce and a total ditz, but Shamare is really clever. It&#39;s winter here in England, and i put them out in the yard for their breakfast (it&#39;s closed off for them) and when she&#39;s had enough of freezing her butt off outside, she jumps the fence, opens the door to the outhouse, and then stands in the outhouse peering into the living room at me.

      Sable couldn&#39;t care less, all he cares about is food&#33;
      They will be going to America in Feb, and then i&#39;m thinking of getting a sphinx cat.

      I also have two parrots, an african grey and a meyers parrot.
      The african grey is called Ollie, and when you put your coat on, he says &#39;bye bye ollie&#33;&#39; and &#39;good morning&#39; when you come down the stairs.
      When someone comes in the house and he doesn&#39;t like them, he&#39;ll tell them to F- off&#33;&#33;&#33;

      He also imitates the key turning in the lock when i lock up at night and various other sounds, the most annoying one being the smoke alarm&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;
      The meyers parrot hates everyone except me. He despises my boyfriend, races across the perch in his cage to try and peck him.
      My mum rescued him over twelve years ago, so we&#39;ve done well with him.
      He doesn&#39;t talk, but he whistles and blows kisses at my boyfriend, even though he hates his guts&#33;&#33;

      I wouldn&#39;t be without those two making a racket. I&#39;m on my own most of the time, so it&#39;s good to hear them chattering and whistling away.

      Aw, cute pics everyone&#33; Keep em coming&#33; I love how each animal has their own unique personality, just like people. People that don&#39;t have pets just can&#39;t understand that.

      Alright, here&#39;s Charlotte, for any of you who read my previous post. That&#39;s her before she started tearing out all her fur because of the fleas.

      She still looks really young for her age, though.

      She&#39;s a beautiful cat, Cold&#33; She&#39;s what we in the &#39;business&#39; call a "torbie" - part tabby markings (the stripes), part torti markings (the orange tortieshell markings). Very unique-looking kitties&#33;

      Were you able to get the fleas under control? You&#39;ll need to treat her (preferably with a spot-on treatment like Advantage), treat any other animals in your house, and treat your house itself. Fleas live in bedding, carpet, etc. Once you take care of the problem, make sure you continue to treat Charlotte (and any other pets you have) once monthly.

      And FYI, flea collars DO NOT work - they are a waste of money, except to put them in your vacuum bag when you are &#39;decontaminating&#39; your house. Otherwise, they are completely useless, don&#39;t waste your money.

      Get a prescription spot-on flea treatment from your vet - I recommend feline Advantage - it kills ALL the stages of fleas (eggs, larva, pupae, and adult), and stops fleas from biting in 3 to 5 minutes after application, and starts killing them within one hour, and all are killed within two hours. And it&#39;s a very safe topical medication that can be applied as frequently as every 2 weeks for severe infestions. Use it once monthly to prevent infestions in the future.

      Well that&#39;s probably more than you needed to know about flea treatment, but fleas are tricky little blighters and they make pets miserable. Good luck.

      And Burns, I love you cat pictures&#33; You took some wonderful, artistic pictures. I especially like pics #1, #2 and the last one you posted on the 19th.

      CB, cute cat...I hope you get the flea problem udner control.

      Here are some of mine:

      This is the cat that made me fall in love with cats, but unlike Burn&#39;s cats, she isn&#39;t too fond of getting her picture taken.

      No, the fleas aren&#39;t gone yet. They&#39;ve had them for several months now. We&#39;ve given them flea bathes and some other stuff but hasn&#39;t worked great, so we&#39;re waiting until we get Advantage. I feel terrible, though, they&#39;re always scratching and biting themselves, and now Charlottes missing patches of hair on her back and legs. Same with my other cat, Febus.

      And FYI, flea collars DO NOT work - they are a waste of money, except to put them in your vacuum bag when you are &#39;decontaminating&#39; your house. Otherwise, they are completely useless, don&#39;t waste your money. [/b]

      OK I am going to try to show pics of my kitties (thanks for help Burns&#33 Names are Minky, Skunky, and Fox.

      And Burns, you can see if you think Minky is a Tonkinese. She was a stray but obviously so special and beautiful that I thought she must be a rare valuable breed. I named her Minky before I found a picture in a book of a Mink Tonkinese. That coincidence was too much, so I decided she must be one. But she is not skinny like your Cloud, she is big and round. She acts like a Siamese, always meowing at me, very demanding and stubborn. But she has a very beautiful musical purr unlike any cat I&#39;ve ever heard. I&#39;m not playing favorites, Skunky is a very special cat too, very tiny but very tough, able to take on Fox who is twice as big. Fox is just a big pain in the ass greedy boy, but I&#39;ve had him the longest.

      Ok here goes, I hope this works. Oh yea, I don&#39;t think it shows, but Minky has a white tip on her tail. And my cats most definitely do not love each other, sometimes it sounds like wild cougars in the house. But nobody ever gets really hurt.

      Yay, Moonbeam&#33; I see you got the attachments to work&#33;

      Very cute kitties too&#33; I like the pic with them lined up on the couch.

      Minky is what we&#39;d consider a Siamese Mix. She definitely has beautiful markings - my guess is that she&#39;s a mix between a Siamese cat (because of the blue eyes and somewhat pointed markings), and either a calico or a tortishell (judging by the dilute variable markings on her coat). This coloration is somewhat uncommon but usually feels plush to the touch, and the cats usually have very sweet personalities. Very cute&#33;
