Serenity's Dream Control Class

Class One:

Part One: Read through your dream journals and write a paragraph on how your dreams are created! Do you dream about work/home/school a lot? Old neighbourhoods or your current ones? Do the plots resemble real life (as in people, places, etc), or are they often very far-fetched? Can you think of something they resemble?

About half of my dreams take place in a city that I've actually lived in. The majority of these dreams take place in my hometown, which I lived in for most of my life. The second-highest percentage take place in the city I live in now. I believe that the locations of my dreams are determined by:
1. Duration (the amount of time that I lived in a certain place), followed by
2. Newness (how recent my experiences there are).

For this reason, the majority of real-location dreams take place in my hometown (high duration), and the second highest number of dreams take place in Quickton (medium duration, very new), while the lowest number take place in Calgary (low duration, oldest). Other dreams may take place in cities I've travelled through briefly, but they don't occur with any regular frequency.

The majority of my dreams (80%) contain supernatural elements or action-oriented scenes. The other 20% are more mundane, but often still contain bizarre themes such as flying a plane to a skydiving class or having weird conversations with celebrities. This is fortunate, because I think if I dreamed about work all the time, I'd die of boredom.

A lot of my dreams have to do with TV shows, books, and movies that I watch (Supernatural is currently ranked eighth highest in my tag cloud). Usually, I'm dreaming from the point of view of one of the characters. These dreams often contain complex tasks and quests that I need to complete.

"Fighting" and "escape" also rank high in my tag cloud. A lot of my dreams have to do with fighting off enemies or running away from them. Enough that I've actually become lucid as soon as I'm attacked by something, or realized that I was dreaming in the middle of running away.

My journal is called Things to Run Away From Really Fast; this shouldn't be surprising.

Tags, I love tags.

Part Two. Write a brief paragraph on your understanding of what a schema is and how you could potentially use it to accomplish something you’ve never done before (ex. flight).

Will edit later.
