Thread: Songs you're embarrassed to admit you like

Right now, I would have to say "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction, and "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake.

If someone had told me 5-12 years ago that I would enjoy (even sing/dance along to) songs like these, I would have laughed in their face. Excessively.

And perhaps turned on a Mars Volta record to eleven, just to spite them.

I blame the multi-generational pop station we all listen to at work...and my age for causing my music standards to loosen over time.


Also that song "Juice" by Chance the Rapper. So, SO bad...but makes me giggle every time.

No need to vomit, karma chameleon is a genuinely good song.

you see, i've been thinking about my first friend lately and the music he listened to (turns out he's gay ) and i'm getting indescribable feelings from it and i feel like i need to see him again, and i think i like them because he liked them and here's another, so bear with me..


this song makes me feel some kind of ecstasy. i know it seems like the most superficial- pointless song in existence, yet its hitting me in emotional places i've been unaware of.. what does does this mean i wonder..

My coworker's 4yr old started singing this song the other night, and I felt embarrassed by how quickly and excitedly I responded "Oh I like that song!".

Not exactly the most suitable song for me.. But damn it's so GOOD! Never get tired of this one x)

OMG I am really embarrassed to even post this but Anaconda Nicki Minaj and Pussy by Iggy......I'm the type to listen to classical music, some pop but nothing too mainstream but I secretly listen to these and if someone even grabs my ear bud i'm LIKE WOAHHHHHH WAIT and change it *sighs*

Selena Gomez - Love You Like A Love Song. I don't like most modern pop music, but I will CRANK the shit out of that song whenever it's on, and especially turn up the bass. I love it so much, and it confuses my mom, because she knows I normally hate any new music on the radio.

I'm ashamed I like some fluffy early-naughties songs. The major hits by Savage Garden and *gulp* Faith Hill. Now THAT'S embarrassing. Just as the fact that I had to spell check embarrassing because I couldn't spell it. I like catchy feel-good songs and most of the time I'm not embarrassed.

I've recently developed an appreciation for Aqua. Sure, they are repetitive and all songs sound pretty much the same but I am fascinated by how they structure their songs. I've come to realize it takes real talent to write stuff that sounds like something anybody could come up with.

And also I hate Blurred Lines on an intellectual level and the men in the video look dumb and the women in the video look dead but it is catchy.
