Music to bring them tears awwww

      Heeeyaaa alll!

I've been wondering what tunes ppl cant help but cry to when they listen to them.

I would love to have a nice collection on my mp3 player to listen to before going to sleep to let out all my tears to (im having hard times lately and just want to release some pressure hehe).

These tunes get me feeling 'emotional':
Groove Armada - Remember (its pretty upbeat but for some reason it makes me feel 'sad', must be the lyrics)
Mahler - 5th Symphony (gets me every time)

So what tunes can u guys recomend? Classical or Modern

      hrm.

      'amazing grace' on bagpipes?

i've personally always found 'jessie' by joshua kadison to be kind of sad too, although i suppose the lyrics are a little silly.

Oh geeze! Where do I begin. Some are tear-bringers while others are just heart movers. Most are classical because that's what I'm listening to right now.

      Tear Bringers
"Honey" (an oldie; can't remember the artist)
"When all is said and done" (Geoff Moore and the Distance)
"If We Never Meet Again" (Selah)
"Adagio for Strings" (Barber - orchestral)
      "Moonlight Sonata" (J. S. Beethoven)

      Heart Movers
      "Adagio" (Albinoni)
Fauré's "Requiem" - namely "En Paradisum" (some movements can also be under Tear Bringers)
"Gollum's Song" from the soundtrack of "The Two Towers"
      Most of the "Braveheart" soundtrack

That's all I can think of right now.

      -Amé

i was thinking "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What a Wonderful World" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, but didn't mention it before for whatever reason. If anyone doesn't immediately recognize that, it plays during the credits of Meet Joe Black and it's also in the movie Finding Forrester.

lucidnina's mentioning of sarah mclachlan reminded me of "Deliver Me" by Sarah Brightman (those two pretty much headed up the soundtrack of "Broken Down Palace"). anyway, it's a great tune... those two sarahs have some incredible voices.

I liked "Eyes on me" in FF VIII, specially at the ending montage it was really nicely done...

Songs that maybe won't draw a tear in my eye but still move me

"Through her eyes" Dream Theatre (the live version with a guitar intro that lasts for like five minutes is the one that really beats me into submission)

"Love song for a Vampire" Annie Lennox

      "How I made millions" Radiohead

"Tajabon" Ismael Lo (I don't know what the hell this song is about, but it gives me really sad memories)

Songs that have brought tears to my eyes:

      Aerosmith - Full Circle
Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight
      Enanitos Verdes - Eterna Soledad
      Goo Goo Dolls - Iris
Green Day - Time Of Your Life
Incubus - Here in My Room
Oasis - Stop crying your heart out (how ironic)
Seether - Your Bore (angry tears mostly)
      Smashing Pumpkins - Perfect

As you can see there is a theme going on here...most of them have to do with things coming to an end, issue that has always been pretty hard for me to handle...

Songs that touch me very much:
      \"Through her eyes\" Dream Theatre[/b]
never heard the live version, but this song is fucking great) My favorite one from the album is "The spirit carries on" though...that one is just one of the most amazing songs ever

      Blink 182 - Adam's Song
      Cold - Bleed
      Coldplay - In My Place
      Coldplay - Trouble
      ColdPlay - Yellow
      Counting Crows - Colorblind
      Counting Crows - Round Here
Green Day - Boulevard of broken dreams
      Hoobastank - Disappear
      Incubus - Agoraphobia
      Incubus - Echo
      Incubus - Favorite things
      Incubus - Under My Umbrella
      Oasis - Little By Little
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss (such a depressing concept)
      Puddle Of Mudd - Blurry
      Radiohead - Creep
      Staind - Outside

Let's leave it with those for now...I revised all of my playlist and found the one's that touched me the most.

I just now realized how much of a cry baby I am....
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up

it's a very emotive version, and the crowd response on that recording is absolutely priceless...
