Thread: Attracted To Gore?

IMO it's fun killing people in video games, because you know it's not real and it's not going to hurt anyone. I personally wouldn't want to see a real live person die, that's just sick.

Maybe, those people are goths, who like to boost their hatred of the world and depression. Or maybe, they're hated people who like to pretend the people dying are their enemies.

Or maybe they are just screwed up

I used to do it, the same way you explaned Manifold. Not anymore though. I believe there is something with humans and death. We keep watching bloody war movies, people dieing. Though we might say excuses like, it isn't real. So yea I say watching bloody movies is like watching the "real" thing. Like the romans and many others did/do.

I have been on a site like that. I do not find it fun that they're dead, but I find it interesting to see how it really looks like to die in a specific way.

I find anything that looks extremely disgusting, violent, twisted, etc. to be enjoyable looking at.

Yeah sometimes I too have the urge to see dead people. Sometimes it is funny, like someone that fell between the platform and a metro, and his skull was just scraped way.

Anyhow, I think people like to see dead people becouse then they know how lucky they are to be alive, and it reminds them of their mortality. Something in that direction. People allso like to look at a hostage situation or a building on fire. We just like to see other people in trouble. I am sure it has some evolutionairy use.

I think it's natural that people want to see that sort of thing, but we are afraid to show our true feelings towards violence, blood, gore and death in a modern society. We have been brought up in a society that decides what we can or can not enjoy seeing.

There's also a series of movies called Faces of Death that show people getting killed in various ways - I've never watched it but I worked at a video store in high school and knew it was available.

I think people are fascinated by death because no one knows what it's like to die - or what happens to you after you die. So I think it's morbid curiousity to watch something so horrific as seeing someone's life end before your very eyes.

I myself can't bear the thought of voluntarily watching someone die like that - especially the horrific deaths they probably show on those websites and in those movies. There's something strange about seeing the very last moment of someone's life, and know they died in that very instant.

A while ago when I was in a geography class we didn't have a teacher and we just went on computers and I was next to a guy that was looking up dead bodies on google images
I asked him why he was looking it up and his answer was "I'm necropheliac."

Anyway I think its sick to look up dead people and hate it.

it is in a humans nature to find out about things that it doesnt fully know about yet, death is one of them, people will never know everything about it, so the try to see it over and over again to know more...

very few people do this for knowledge...

other people do it because they are sick minded, or they are extremely sadistic...

but some people do it because of the idea that they want to see everything in their lives that includes seeing someone die...i dont know why people would want to see someone be brutally murdered...but some people do...

to conclude this post, yes people are intrigued by this sort of thing, because its part of human nature to learn everything there is to know about life, and death, and where some people would find it interesting, others would find discusting...as for me i havent seen anyone ever die, and i dont plan to...

I've actually always thought of it as a masochistic thing, looking at shock sites. I guess it depends on how you are reacting to the images and why you're looking at them.

I can't watch that stuff, I dont want to watch that stuff, and I have never tried to watch that stuff. I don't have even the slightest interest. I find that kind of stuff very disturbing and quite morbid.
