The most disturbing music video I have ever seen
Night Life mentioned this song in the "worst song" thread yesterday, and I looked it up and came to the conclusion that it is beyond sick. What is so disturbing about it is that to the little girls who get into it, what happens in it does not seem so outrageous. Rap and heavy metal videos/songs deal with themes that the supervast majority of the people who get into them will see as just entertainment that is not to be taken seriously. Everybody knows that shooting people over small matters and sacrificing dogs are terrible things that only sick people do, so heavy metal and rap don't really concern me. However, bullying is something that too much of society thinks is not a big deal, when the truth is that it really devastates and messes up a lot of people, and that is what concerns me about this video. I really think a lot of young girls are going to see something very glamorous about engaging in this type of evil and act it out in real life. What do you think?

Think about how twelve year old girls are going to treat other twelve year old girls in reality after becoming huge fans of that video. Did you read the You Tube comments? That's scary. It is scary that we have a society that takes bullying with a grain of salt. That shit is what leads to school shootings. Sometimes it leads to suicide. It is a major psychological issue. I think you're getting old if that video is disturbing to you. I think it's just kind of silly.
That Aphex Twin stuff looks more like they made videos and then put soundtracks to them, rather than the other way around. That is awful "music".
I guess the only way Marilyn Manson can be shocking is with S&M porn, so that's what he does. He totally stole his ideas from Alice Cooper (including the idea for the name!), but his music is good.

Do you really think that video doesn't encourage the Hell out of bullying and cruelty in a way that little girls will be encouraged by it? The thing is that I used to be a teacher, and I got to see the behind the scenes stuff that the kids in the school never saw. I have seen too many kids show their real emotions in the office as they go through absolute Hell and as the people who did it to them are out laughing about it. It is so sick, and it is so not taken seriously by people who really need to take it seriously.
The video glamorizes that stuff big time. It says, "Hey, go for it! Wooo hooooo!!!!" If you can convince me that junior high girls who think that is the greatest video ever (Read the You Tube comments and check the ages.) will say, "That's good entertainment, but it is no way to treat people," then I will change my mind about the video. It's not like a Slayer or a Marilyn Manson video in which the kids who watch it know it's nothing legitimate, except in very rare cases of kids who are seriously mentally ill any way. Avril Lavigne is also aimed at a younger audience. There are nine year olds on You Tube commenting about what a great video it is.
