Let's Go Gliding! (WILD)

NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to WILD... sort of. I just imagined a dream scene and it actually took focu this time instead of overly distracting me into reality.

At first I kind of felt reality a bit but that slowly subsided.

Here goes.

I imagined that I got into a glider on the ground. I didn't climb into the cockpit, I sunk into it through the perspex canopy. Once inside, I lost the image and faded to reality a second, I got back into the dream and saw a strong fragment of the sky with clouds. Very good image and a good sign that I should continue with this.

We start to gain some airspeed via the tow plane... I cut back to reality a split second and i just say that we need to pull up to get the dream moving again where i need it to.

Before long, The dream stabilises a decent ammount. The tow plane is still the same yellow that it is IRL, and WE climb slowly. We turn left into a doglegged crosswind. Before long we reach 500ft and I look at the instruments and confirm that everything is working like it should.

We turn left into downwind and climb a considerable ammount. Here I am saying "6000ft." (what I want to climb to) over the radio. The Tug pilot says that he can't make 6000ft. We turn into base, then upwind and then to crosswind again in quick succession.

Turning onto downwind at 3000ft and thus (leaving the circuit) mum says something from the ground about a camera... whatever. Funny that I hear her and she, me... lol.

After this, We climb a great deal. Probably 6000ft if not more.

We detach and start the gliding. I pull the aircraft into a right roll over centerpoint. Looked shnazy. Leveling out, I perform a right Hammerhead, and it works as a tailslide hammerhead instead, but still, It has the effect, jjust delayed. I am really close to the ground now, however, a bit dangerous. :/

A helicopter comes by and i bring my nose closer to hook onto a whinch or something. Once I do this the Helo climbs high and I'm back at 6000ft. I detach near a coastline/railline and look at some olg trains on the railway. After this, back into the gloder and I glide down and land on the runway... fun!

Somewhere or other, I lost my lucidity, but in return, gained stable dreaming as a new image formed and so on and so forth.
From here I am on the ground looking at a spitfire, perform a very fast pass through some trees, and level out and climb higher, and start to perform a hammerhhead turn before i lose the dream scene...

Damnit, I've got to check this thread more often. I miss some good dreams. And grats on the WILD, mate!

sorry to quote something so old, but I saw it as I was scrolling down the page.

Y'know what's weird? In lot's of my past dreams, I've felt so helpless that the dream would fade that I seriously got stuck rubbing my hands together until I lost lucidity. Then in waking life I decided I would stop doing that, hearing it's only a placebo effect, and the act has no real connection to the vividness. And ever since then, all my lucids have been very short lived, nearly over looked (due to length and insignificance), bursts of blurred consciousness. So somehow I'm only able to end up at one of the two extremes of this technique; Perpetual use or failure to do so (with consequences).

I somehow got unsubscribed to your journal (I went through a mass deletion of subscribed threads recently, but I tried to keep all the journals!!).

I was thinking, "I haven't heard from Flake in a while!" saw that you are online and orange-named. Pretty much clued in at that point

Grats on the WILD, do you find they are getting easier for you?

Yeah. Helps when you are already near REM and doing an unintentional WBTB though. I didn't feel my body fall asleep or anything, just mentally jumped straight to the WILD. pretty choice! :3

Sounds a lot like when my DEILDs go through successfully... like if I wake up mid-dream from something... sometimes I can jump right back in.

So, one could say I have successfully WILDed before, kinda. I can't really control DEILDing though. It's like all the stars have to align in the heavens for it to work
