PureLaz's Dream Journal
So I started my dream journal last night with the hopes of being able to achieve lucid dreams. I heard about lucid dreams from a friend a few months ago didn't bother looking into it too much, but it seems like an amazing experience.
I have not had a true lucid dream, I've had times where I'm semi-awake and I think I'm dreaming so I think I can do anything, but then snap out of that mindset and wake up. I'm not great at recalling dreams, I often feel as though I don't have dreams certain nights, we'll see if that stand with this dream journal. I think with my dream journal I will be able to remember my dreams better, so here is my entry from last night...I will copy exactly as I wrote it and try to expand on what I remember.
Blue = Normal Dream
Green = Lucid Dream
Red = Nightmare

7:30am - First player in Fallout 3 was head of Engadget. Each subsequent player was down the list. In a non existant game menu, did not play as character, just a selection.
Afterthoughts...
So, the game screen when I went to play had a list of the editors from the technology blog engadget.com which I read everyday. It was just a list of all of them and I could select each one, I was confused by what I saw and got angry then woke up. I woke up and it was 7:30am and the time just changed so it was really 8:30am to my body I suppose, it wasn't very long at all, but I was able to recall it which I think is a good thing.
I hope to be talking about some more vivid and exciting dreams in the future, but hey its a start!

Before I start, I want to say that immediately writing an entry after waking up is TOUGH! It takes some discipline to write down what you recall, so these aren't very long, I will try to be more specific with future entries, I just need to get into this habit I suppose...

2:30am-Dream of having seafood with old important man and his son. Realized I was dreaming then immediately woke up.
5:30am-Dream I could return my new PS3 for a new MacBook.
Afterthoughts...
The earlier dream was a bit odd, as now I recall as just me and the old man eating seafood and no other son, but I suppose what I wrote down at the time has more validity, though I may have been too tired to realize what I was trying to convey. I remember the old man as large, and we were in a seafood restaurant on the Maine coast or something it seemed. I do not eat any seafood which might be why I realized I was dreaming, but then once I realized it I kicked myself out and woke up.
The 5:30 dream was small, there was definitely something more, but I was woken up by rats that like to make an insane amount of noise in our walls (It drives me insane!) so I started hitting the walls to get the noise to stop and forgot most of my dream, all I can remember is thinking I could exchange my PS3 for a MacBook. I think its because I got a MacBook in June months before the new update and I'm kicking myself in the butt for not holding out, and I recently got a PS3 which did not have the memory card slot which I expected it to have so I think I confused my MacBook and PS3.

8:15-I had one really distinct dream. I was controlling how a friend of mine (not a close friend), ran in a race with a PS3 controller. If he stopped on his own will, he was shocked by a thing on his leg. Then my cousin who is on the other side of the country came and talked to me, but he looked nothing like my cousin, but I thought he was. Then I went to a fraternity and everyone was really tired, but wanted ice cream. The other dream was that I had cut my foot on glass from a shattered cup (which actually happened, the shattering cup) and my friend had the ability to fix up my cut with a scalpel and other medical instruments. Finally, I remember starting up my MacBook, but the boot noise it made was really different and much darker.
Afterthoughts...
Not too many afterthoughts, most vivid dream I've had by far. I drank a glass of orange juice right before bed which I heard helps, so maybe thats why.
