The obvious answer would seem that you've got feelings for him, but dreams can often symbolize things far off from what they apparently present, or perhaps nothing at all.
If the desire for more than just friends is true, it seems more that you aren't particularily lusting after him, but really enjoy his personality and see potential for a type of love to develop, or perhaps its more of a brotherly type love.
But all I know about dreams is what I've learned from my own, and we're probably very different people, so don't take it as law or believe something that you actually don't.

Random dream:
me and my guy friend who ive known my whole life were trying to float/jump across a huge puddle from our school to the big brother house (i watch it too much, i know) and then a car aappeared from nowhere and we drove home but we were older and lived together....What is that about??!!
