Hmm.. It could work, although I can't see how you can fall asleep with your arm up. I'm pretty sure I can't.
A mate of mine mentioned to me the other day a weird thing i'd never before heard of. Apparently there's a technique which can be used to realise your dreams in the waking state. If, as you're going to sleep, you raise an arm, you can actually fall asleep with the arm still raised. But soon after, the arm will drop, waking you up, and apparently with the awakening comes a strange waking dream experience.
I don't really know how this works. Maybe sleeping with your body still slightly physically active causes a lighter sleep or something. Has anyone heard of this before, and know what it does and how?
Super perfundo on the early eve of your day

LD's since joining: 3
I bet what happens is, you go into HI with your arm still up. It's possible, I used to pass out in class all the time, and I would go into HI while my head was still up, and it would bob up and down and wake me up.
The hard part would be to keep from waking fully after your arm drops and losing the HI before you get a chance to LD.
I'm gonna try it!
Wouldn't your arm go numb/get pins and needles? That would be really uncomfortable. A few times I have chosen to leave a lucid b/c I could tell that I was sleeping on my arm strangely and it fell asleep and I wanted to move it.
Oh that sucks, you're probably right. Maybe I'll try the sitting up sleep again. It works if I'm really really really tired.Originally posted by lucidnina

Yeah that sounds like it could work I guess, only way to find out is to try it I suppose... Its like when ur in the car tring not to go to sleep, and ur start to nodd off and ur head slupms forward and u make a make a slobbery 'ugh' noise and jerk ur head back up to stay awake but only fall asleep again... I guess. I don't think that it's possible to go to sleep with your arm fully raised, maybe with it resting on something.... Who knows?
