I'm in the same boat unfortunately Liz. I wish I could just jump over to the other ship that helps you to become lucid every night.
I had a short lucid dream last night (first real 'lucid' dream in ages) only lasted about 15 seconds though![]()
In my opinion and from my experience its difficult to just 'end a dry spell', its like having writers block, unless it happens naturally its hard to change. I’m sure there is a level of will involved if you really focus your attention everyday on reality checks, dream recall, dream signs, techniques etc (something I rarely do). If your fully convinced you want to change your approach to lucidity because its not ‘working’ I would advice reading about it again (like trying to recreate that passion you had for it the first time you heard about lucidity). If I get periods when I don’t lucid dream I usually re-read the main page of Dream Views.
Ive noticed a strange pattern in my journal since January, the consistency of lucid dreams has slowly fallen from once a week to once a month (April-May) it obviously coincides with me giving up reality checks and proved techniques such as HILD and WILD.
I get very lazy and always decide to forget the work involved (lol).
