I wish I understood how meditation works so i could try it.
I don't know how to meditate and don't really want to learn.
I do not meditate, but would like to learn how.
I currently mediate and understand how it is done.
I have tried meditation, but cannot grasp the whole concept of it.
I'm experienced at meditation and feel that it helps my quest in lucid dreaming.
I do not think that lucid dreaming and meditation have anything to do with each other.
Meditation can be a powerful aspect of a person's life. Once people learn how and find value in true meditation, they often wonder how they ever lived without it. I find that true happiness, self-acceptance and inner peace can only come from the mind disciplined by meditation. What many of you seek in lucid dreaming can be obtained from true meditation. I feel that the two are very closely intertwined considering the same type of brain wave patterns are produced for a person in a state of lucid dreaming and meditation.
So, I just wanted to see where meditation ranks in this community with a poll.
Thanks

"Extinguish the light in your mind so they can get some sleep"
The high performance mind by Anna Wise Is a very very good read that explains meditation in a logical approach. She describes the different brainwave patterns that our brains use for different aspects of our lives and shows how they compare to those of meditation. She also has some information on guided fantasy and ideas on making your own audio recording for guided fantasy for meditation. I highly reccomend it. The book has the potential to change one's life.
I'm diffently going to check out that book thanks!

Perhaps nothing is more important to Lucid Dreaming than the ability to Meditate.
I had learned Meditation under a Guru from Madras India. After about a year of studying under him he came to me in a dream and told me that even a few seconds of Meditation in a Dream is worth thousands of hours of waking Meditation. I found that statement to be very true. When I go Lucid I now make it a point to center myself and bring up the Energy by first intoning an AUM and then meditating for only a few seconds, which, as the Guru said, is quite long enough.
if meditation helps induce lucid dreams, then i would very much like to learn this "meditation". any advice or helpful links you could provide us would be much appreciated leo.
