Soo, what do you have to do to see some kind of a 3D image...
All I'm seeing is fuzzy pictures...![]()
so I was looking at some stereograms and I realized something
see it takes me sometimes a few seconds to focus in on one, and it's also easy for me to lose focus on them and I can't see the 3D image anymore...so I have to start over etc
anyway the point of this is, some of my weaker LDs look JUST LIKE THAT...I mean, there's all this random muck that I try to take visual control over, and I get it, lose it, get it back etc
just wondering if any of y'all know what I'm talking about
(example stereograms)

It's a great analogy. I have to relax in order to see the 3d images.
It is the same in my LDs - they have to be "relaxed into" or else they flatten and fade.

maybe I should think 'stereograms' in my next LD and see what happens
Snyyppis: you gotta do this weid thing with your eyes where you try to focus them past the image, like pretend you are focusing your eyes on some far away object behind your monitor (I really suck at explaining how to do it, sorry)

I got a book with these things, there are some tricks to doing it - one of the easiest is this:
1) Place the image in front of you, holding it up close to your face, right at the tip of your nose. At this point you shouldn't be able to see anything but a blur.
2) Slowly pull the image away from your face, DO NOT look at the page or try to figure it out - keep your eyes locked, kind of as you would when you're zoned out or staring into space.
3) As the page gets further from your face, it will become harder NOT to focus on the page. At some point, however, you'll start to "see" something as if it's floating OFF the page (like right over it).
If you're eyes make the "adjustment", you'll find yourself looking at the hidden 3D picture!
Method #2:
1) Focus your eyes on something that's about 3 feet or so away from you. Some object on a table or something.
2) Once you got yourself locked on to that object, slip the stereo image about halfway between you and the object on the table WITHOUT looking directly at what's on the page.
3) Try to imagine that the image is not there or transparent, keeping your eyes focused BEHIND the image.
After a few seconds your eyes might start playing tricks on you and the 3D image will reveal itself.

MAGIG EYE!!! WOO HOO! Those are great! I have a few books of those
If indeed your dreams take on a scene similar to this, maybe you should try a blank stair at the dream scene. Much like you would (Or I do) to get the stereo grams into focus.
*Notice you can do this with almost any texture. Try it. It is just your two eyes focusing on two different things.
If you have a couch for example, it is really cool because it looks as if you are sitting on something surreal!

No shit, really?! Damn, what'r you doin this weekend, I gotta see this couch! If you have a couch for example, it is really cool because it looks as if you are sitting on something surreal! ![]()
