I noticed this 2 man. Ever since i started LD, every time iv awoken from a dream i feel a lil more exausted. Same thing with some dreams that arnt even Lucid, ever since i started rembering them, its like my brain rushed into REM.
Hi everyone!
I'm new to this board and dabbled in lucid dreaming as a teenager. I am now 25 and do not actively practice lucid dreaming. I am not sure if I ever had a lucid dream but I do know that I can take control of my dreams but not all the time. I do not always participate in dreams, most of the time I feel like I am watching a movie. Anyway, onto my issue. I am having sleep problems. I am wondering if my dabbling in lucid dreaming has effected my quality of sleep. Last night I slept from about 11:00pm to 5:30am but I woke up exhausted and was tired all day. I have been keeping a journal and a connecting factor I have found is that when I "take control" of a dream, I wake up exhausted. I've looked for information on this topic but I haven't found anything that addresses this issue. Any help would be great. I would like to pursue lucid dreams but I need a good nights sleep!!

KEEP GOING GUYS!its totally worth it, and when you have an LD you will feel rested, really rested.
also, think of taking up meditation, it helps relax me TONS.

I've noticed also that when I have an especially vivid LD, that I am happier and more relaxed the next day.
It is the nights where I toss and get all tense trying that wear me out!

LDs just give me more energy, even though I wake up about 3 times a night, I never seem tired. Gues I dont need much sleep lol

I don't find LDs tiring.
I would be tired if I only slept from 11:00pm to 5:30am! You just need a little more sleep.
Yeah, I've started working overtime. Have to get up around 4:30, really cuts into my REM time!Originally posted by Dream-Master
