My dad meditates a lot and all but he doesn't believe LD because he says that the unconcious part of the mind or however you write it doesn't let you realize you are dreaming. Of course I know LD exists.
My mom told me I'm getting weirder and weirder everyday. I told her that I had a third lucid. She doesn't understand how it is possible to realise you are dreaming if you are asleep. I tried explaining but she says it is complicated. I think she find it hard to believe that in a dream you can do whatever you want.
What do your parents say about lucid dreaming?

There is proof! Everyone on this site!!!

I haven't told my parents, but I already know the anwser:
"Hahaha, why do you do these useless things, have you learnt for your exams yet?"
So I just simply won't mention this topic to them![]()
I think my dad didn't belive me and my mom just doesn't really care.
Currently training to master WILD.
LDs: 300+ probably
LOL

I just dont mention it. My family isn't the best with wierd concepts.
I don't get why people don't believe in LDs. It's so simple. You're dreaming and you're aware of it. It's not that complicated! I had an LD a night or two ago, for cripe's sake.
Both my parents believe me. Don't know why? I wouldn't even believe myself. Lucily me and my friens are all kind of weird. 3 of have experienced lucid dreaming in our life. We believe in it. I am the only one that practices it. One of my other friens went mental and crazy, because of lucid dreaming. He got confused between the the real world and the dreamworld. Scary huh? But in anyway, my parents do believe me. there is just no way that they will do lucid dreaming
THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE
I haven't mentioned lucid dreaming to them but don't try to keep it a secret, it just hasn't come up in conversation. My mom thinks I have a sleeping disorder, but really I just don't like to follow normal sleeping routines. Every once in a while when I have a good lucid dream I might mention it to a few friends. One has believed me and said he hasn't had a ld in a long time, and another friend says all dreams are "brain static".
I really don't mention it at all, but I know for a fact that my dad has them all the time. I'm actually pretty jealous of his LD skills.
He's such a natural at it that he doesn't even need to try, he just has them and gets complete control.
Mine some how think its evil, <--very religious, they cant explane to me why, they just say "dont like it, it opens doors" Lol. Or something weird crazy and uncalled for like that :-)
I learned to not speek of such evil things![]()
Sometimes we'll talk about what we dreamt about the previous night, and once we got to talking and I asked him if he ever knew he was dreaming in a dream. He said it happened to him all the time. I asked if he could control stuff, and he said he always had complete control.
Wow! that's nice
oh man! shame! I understand where they are coming from. I am also a very religious person, but there is nothing evil about LD
THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE
I never told my parents. My mom's going to find out soon though cause I did sleep/dreaming as a reasearch topic for school, and of course I mention lucid dreaming! My mom has a habit of going over all my reports I hand in (very annoying, but sometimes she catches mistakes I miss) so she's going to know eventually.
Don't know how she'll react though. Probably just ignore it and never mention it to me.

My mom kind of feigns interest for my sake, but it's pretty obvious that she doesn't really believe or doesn't care. My Dad was kind of skeptical but intrigued when I first told him; then one morning he came up to me, really excited, and said he wanted to wake me in the middle of the night and thank me because he had a LD!

I've told my mom about it and she said that she has lucid dreams (she didn't use the term "lucid", she just said that she controls her dreams) as well sometimes. My dad didn't show any disbelief, he just didn't really care.
My Mother believes me, and seem interested enough. If we dream something strange or interesting we usually tell each other. She doesn't Lucid Dream though... not to my knowledge, atleast.

My mom thinks it's a cult because when she picked up a LD book for me it was near the New Age and Occult section.
My brother doesn't think so but doesn't really seem interested, just my friends who are trying to have one, and no one can say they are bogus and not believe me about them because they've happend and are real.

See, I never got that. Lucid Dreaming is not New Agish, yet a lot of people think it is. Its dumb.
I talk about it with my mom sometimes, and shes had them. Im jealous. She says she has a few a week.

My Mom and Dad more a less had an "Ooooookay ..." kind of response, but I think they do get what I am saying, though they dont seem to interested.
... though my Dad has often jokingly asked e if I have had any "lewid" dreams latly
... and they did seem somewhat interested when I told them I had had a sort of lucid (very short), though not so much as that they wanted to hear all about it

That's what I don't really like about religious people. They are afraid for the "unknown", even though dreaming is a very natural thing to do. So what if you know that you're dreaming? You just have more control than when you weren't lucid. Yes, it's true that it opens doors: to good stuff. I like religious stories and things like that. However, I don't really like the "afraid of the unknown" and the strict rules of religion.Mine some how think its evil, <--very religious, they cant explane to me why, they just say "dont like it, it opens doors" Lol. I've told my parents a few times that I'm busy trying to get LDs. "So you're really making a study out of this, eh?" was something my mother said to me. She has told me that she had a few LDs in her life. My dad doesn't really care about lucid dreaming, it seems. My friends are really amazed by the lucid dreaming concept. A few of them already had their first LDs. A lot of them are trying it. It's good to see that some people actually care about it. Even though it's not my loss when somebody doesn't want to lucid dream, it's their loss. My brothers don't really seem to care, nor do they want to put any effort in getting lucid dreams. Oh well, their loss.![]()
Both of my parents have shown some interest in it, but my dad especially. He has lucid dreams every so often, but didn't really know much about them until I started talking about them. He really likes them, but often has the problem of getting too excited and waking up almost as soon as he realizes he's dreaming. Given his sleeping habits (4-5 hours a night), I'm surprised he has any lucid dreams, as I usually have to sleep for 8 or 9 hours to achieve a lucid dream.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

All people I've told it to, believe in it, but not many seem that interrested, except for one of my friends.
I haven't told my parents though. When I was young, I often waked my mom in the night. She hated me for it, because the last two hours of a persons sleep is some of the most important. It leads me to think, that my mom is either enjoying her dreams/lucid dreaming, or maybe she just heard somewhere, that the last two hours were important.
My dad has sleep-problems sometimes, but I don't really think he cares about his dreams. My mom seems far more religious than my dad, but she's no super religious person. She just believes in special stuff more than my dad does.
