      You in your dreams...

Are you not yourself in your dreams? If so, in what way...

Sometimes I am an entirely different person, like if I have a movie-dream an sometimes enter a character and see from there viewpoint. In those cases, I can be anyone.

Other times, it's more like I am myself, but only part of myself--like an angry part, or sad part, etc. I act differently than I would if I had my complete mind, but I feel like me, and I feel like what I'm doing makes sense for that part of my personality.

I am myself, but a much younger version.
My actual age is 50,… but when I’m dreaming I’m more like 24-25.

My personality is often different in dreams. I have a lot of dreams where I'm very angry or violent. Often directed at friends
Like last night where a really good friend stole my girlfriend and I went completely ape at him. Screaming my ass off and calling him every name under the sun. I've had dreams in the past where I've punched the same guy in the face. Now that I think about it, its a recurring theme where he steals something and then I get angry and try to hit him... weird.

In reality I would never do that. Nor would he for that matter, he's the nicest guy I know

Yeah, I've noticed that their are some major personality traits that are different in my dreams.

Maybe my dreamself is making up for my irl lack of confidence? O_o

I'm bolder in my dreams, definitely. Exaggeration of emotion has already been covered, and occurs in my earlier dreams. In my later dreams, I'm more level-headed, fitting better into whatever situation I'm in.

If I'm literally not myself, I'm a guy. Yesterday, I was Light Yagami from Death Note (odd, because I only read the manga).
