When I first started working hard toward increasing my lucidity and dream control I experienced what you described. My recall went down and my dreams got boring. I struggled with staying motivated, especially in the wee hours of the morning when I'd wake from a dream.
For me it got better with time (a week). After that I had a resurgance of my good recall, had cool exciting dreams, and was feeling excited about LDing in general. I think this sort of "bump" is pretty normal.
Read some DJs to help inspire you. Spend some time doing something fun, something unrelated to LDs.
