I have dreams when I go to sleep drunk, and in my dreams im drunk and drunk-dreaming is fucken awesome but iv never tried getting lucid with it, maybe next time ill see what I can cook up
Ive read some threads on using marijuana to get an immediate REM-rebound after 5-6 hours of sleep.
But for those of you who dont want to use weed or other medical little helpers to try this, instead try to examine if you tend to dream a lot after drinking alcohol the night before. I discovered the other day, as I have discovered many other times, that if I just get a good nights sleep after drinking alcohol the night before, I dream a LOT right before I wake up. Perhaps not every time, but often enough.
You would think that since alcohol makes you sleep a deathdeep dreamless sleep, this is impossible. But Im pretty sure that once the liver is done working on all that juice, the dream factory starts to work, and to make up for lost dreams, they all come at once.
Now dont start drinking everynight before bed, but only try to remember the next time you are a little drunk that you should try this. Actually I dont know if there is much to try, but I have a feeling its just about the same thing as with weedsmoking, only alcohol goes out with the urine after a couple of hours, whereas marijuana can mess with dream recall, dreaming it self and so forth for a much longer time than that. Thats why I trust alcohol more than weed: I do more stupid things while under the influence, but it doesnt give me mood swings, the inability to concentrate, restlessness, apathy and so forth for several days after (not always, but too often).
Perhaps trying to WILD after getting enough sleep after drinking, a little longer than usual since you tend to sleep more after a drunken night. Will try to remember until next time and post if there is any success, or not.

in your wildest dreams you couldn't picture a bogan like me, haha
Well to me the whole point of practicing lucid dreams is to expand my mind and knowledge about myself, and gain more control. Using some medications, drugs or alcohol is short term, and u have NO control. It can give u amazing results in very short time. But u cannot drink alcohol every night, or smoke weed, can u?
I agree that with alcohol dreams r more intense. But everything that u can gain by using some substance, u can do it without it with a little hard work, and u fill achieve so much more.
Its just my opinion that u should work without substances.

I couldnt agree with you more. Ive tried sometimes with weed the last few weeks, but I only get to stoned, and besides it makes me fucked up in every kind of way anyway. So Ive decided to stay away from such pleasures completely for a long time now.
Of course you shouldnt drink every night, then you will become an alcoholic![]()
But it is however something you can enjoy, if you can remember it on your occasional weekend hangover, or whenever. But not turning into abuse of course. Its always better and more rewarding if you can manage for yourself.

night with alcohol is never worth the next morning.

I rarely drink any alcohol. When I do: Tequilla or Ouzo preferably.
I don't drink alcohol any more often than perhaps once every 3 months maybe. I know how harmfull and addictive it can work when I look at some of my friends and their parents too.
I smoke weed occasionally. Right now I'm smoking hasish which is less ''mind-blowing'' and depressing than weed. It tends to calm the mind relax you but it doesn't make you all overcome by drowsyness and sleepyness as weed often does. Hashis are somehow much more meditative, calm and alert.
As for alcohol: It is very hard for me to decide how much alcohol to drink since I hardily ever drink and my Tolerance is very low. I'm willing to experiment with this though
What would you suggest? Get an REM-rebound effect in the night while entering your first REMcycle by drinking the night before? Click here to read about alcohol's psychological effects, duration and medical effects.
Maybe it would be best to ''timer'' the moment the Alcohol-effects wear off (after 4 hours) by trying to synchronize it with the moment you go into your First REM-cycle of the night to get this supposed alcohol REM-rebound as you start your first Dream.
Any thoughts?

Being drunk does kill dream recall, but if you don't drink that much you should have more vivid dreams, at least that what I noticed when I was in the Philippines, I'd be interesting though if drinking caused more people to become lucid, but it's not really a trustworthy substance. Many people do tend to get hooked onto it without really noticing it so I'd rather find ways to be lucid without drinking .

Well, first off, we have a very different approach on all of these substances![]()
Hashish completely kills my brain activity, marijuana makes me highly active and energetic, if I use it properly and dont smoke constantly for days (which tends to happen if I buy some for myself, due to stress related problems) and I have a pretty high alcohol treshold.
As always, individuality is the key. Everything works different on everyone. But I think there are some guide lines. Wikipedia on alcohol metabolism
This page is informative but complicated, but in short, the average man burns about 2 cl of booze/hour. Then theres the question of musclemass and water, what you have been eating and so forth.
SO, perhaps you should make sure you are well fed and hydrated before experimenting with this, for minimal damage on your body. I drink 2-3 times a week, but mostly its a glass of wine or two when I eat dinner. Otherwise its partying, and I drink between 1-2 bottles of wine (my favorite beverage) or 10-15 beers (my second favourite beverage). I never only booze, because I tend to do the most stupid, drunken related things when Ive been drinking booze. Secondly it makes me extremely dehydrated the day after, makes me feel like a peeled shrimp thats been lying in the sun for a few days.
My first lucid, which occured last sunday, was in fact under the influence of alcohol, and I had no trouble recalling the entire dream in every detail. In fact, I havent even written it down (in detail) or used my dictaphone which I sometimes do the moment I wake up, and I still remember it perfectly.
My suggestion is you do some research on the alcohol and on your own body, to figure out the best way to make sure the body is occupied during the first hours of sleep. You dont want to get so drunk that you sleep for 12 hours, but you need enough to get that carouselish feeling that makes you immediatly go to sleep.
Like any other drug alcohol is higly diuretic, so you must make sure you have enough drunken enough water. You wouldnt want to wake up in the middle of the night pissed, in need to urinate and being dehydrated at the same time. Very annoying conditions. So if you decide to drink hard alcohol, water is the key.
Im sorry that I wont keep writing now, because I have a lot on my mind. I have to write three film analyses, a long letter to my father, plan my examination bash, finish a special essay and print a book![]()
So Ill leave you with this and try to finish these things as soon as possible.
