Your eyes are closed when WILDing. What you are "seeing" is HI, or Hynogogic Imagery. It's kind of like hallucinations, so to speak. I believe it is in your head.
okay so when people say they see stuff, patterns, images or whatever. Do they mean they "see" this stuff in their head or that they have SP and can see this stuff with their eyes open?
Im just confused that so many tuts and threads say things about "seeing" things when trying to wild, but I thought you were supposed to have your eyes closed?

This guy,, and this guy,
, are mine. BACK OFF!
Actually I think there's two sides of this.
Ever heard about the old hag syndrome? If not you can quickly look it up through google, but here you certainly do have chances of "seeing" a dark shadowly figure with your eyes open.
On the other hand you can also see these pictures, patters, etc while trying to WILD (when you're slipping into a dream, on your way into one and so on)
In this case I'm certain you're supposed to have your eyes closed. You're trying to fall asleep!Im just confused that so many tuts and threads say things about "seeing" things when trying to wild, but I thought you were supposed to have your eyes closed?hehe. So these is most certainly pictures happening in your head.
[EDIT]
Like Snowy Egypt said, it's a state of HI
[/EDIT]
Luckily for me I haven't experienced it yet. What a horrible experience it must be :/ The only thing I've had happened to me during an attempt at WILD was a quick feeling of an evil presence before I slipped into a dream. About having your eyes open or not, I think that may be subjectiveGah, I have a love/hate relationship with that syndrome. It's only happened once, but now that you mention it, I'm not sure if I had my eyes open or not.Because I'm almost certain that the old hag syndrome can happen when you're awake, but your body is still in a SP state.
How is this old hag thing different than a bad SP experience? I have personally heard people in the room that weren't really there. People say that they have the "cannot breathe" sensation during SP. So combine those and you get old hag. And in terms of the evilness of it, If I couldn't breathe I would have a sense of doom also.
Forget it! Nobody is going to get him! Long gone. DEVIN HESTER YOU ARE RIDICULOUS!
